  1. Thanks for the advice Ron, I guess I will just have to get used to it. Most of my work is so simple that I dont even need it...I am just now expanding my horizons and looking at some more efficient ways of machining our parts. Its making it harder ...although more challenging for me, but more accurate and much easier for my operator. Thanks again ~~~~~Shady
  2. Sorry to bring this one back up...but I still havnt fixed it. It has been a real problem for the part that I am currently programming. Any ideas at all???? Thanks ~~~~~~Shady
  3. Welcome to the forum Barghest. may I ask what part of Ky. you are from? I am in Wv...about 40 miles east of Charleston...we do alot of work for mines in western Ky. Just wonderin' how close a neighbors we are. ~~~~~~~Shady
  4. Oh yeah....welcome to the forum!! ~~~~~Shady
  5. Could also be tool pressure...caused by material hardness...tool sharpness (or lack thereof), hole depth, improper feed/speed. Machining isnt always as cut and dried as programing with M/C...alot of variables in the real world. ~~~~~Shady
  6. No...it is set to "all". I may try sp2. I dont know what happened to my view manager...it was working...then one day nothing. It does still work though....it is just as if the writing is invisible. Thanks for the help~~~~~Shady
  7. I am having a problem with my wcs view manager. When I open the view manager all of my lines for system views are blank. If I click on a line, the system view does change. The system view display is set to all. Also reset c/t plane and update graphics are checked. I am using M/C mill V9 sp1. Any Ideas???? I know I screwwed SOMETHING up!! Thanks ~~~~Shady

  10. 10300...I know it's not much help, but when I do logos..or I should say an exsisting logo. I take an exsisting pic of the logo...load it in autocad as a raster image...trace it..mostly with 3 point arcs...save it...then load the saved drawing file into mastercam with the autodesk converter. Prolly didnt help....but just my 2 pennys worth.~~~~~Shady
  11. Thanks again everyone....once again Im convinced...you guys know your...uh...shazbat. I really appreciate the help. I am really new to CNC work...only been at it about a year now...with no formal training so I count on this forum alot, and have never been disappointed. Hope I can be as helpful to someone someday. ~~~~~~Shady
  12. Thanks for the input. we are using a 2003 model Daewoo DMV 4020 50 taper. Peck tapping? I have never tried peck tapping...except by hand of course! We have a radial drill...but it is in our other shop...about 1/8 mile down the road from our CNC shop. We do "cheat" a little on the drill size...we would never get them done otherwise. I appreciate all the advice...if you have any other thoughts, please send them my way. I will let ya know what...if anything...works. Thanks everyone, ~~~~Shady
  13. Im hoping someone can give me some advice. I need to tap a bunch of holes 7/8 nc9 to give full thread all the way thru a 4" thick mild steel burnout on a vertical mill. Should I try an extended length tap or a threadmill? Im not experienced with either. I dont think an extended length tap will hold up. I have never used a thread mill, I have only thread milled with a single point internal lathe threading bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated....I hate taking these 300 lb parts off the mill to tap them on the drillpress to finish them. Thanks~~~~~~~Shady
  14. Congrats, let him have a lifetime of good health, great happiness, and much prosperity. ~~~~Shady
