  1. I have used both Mill & Router and depending on the types of applications you are doing Mill will be just fine. If you need to nest and you do stay with Mill and want to add the nesting option it can get a little pricey. I asked our retailer about it a few months back but I can't remember the price but I am thinking it was in the $2500 range(I could be way off though). We have 5 seats of Mill and 3 seats of router here, the 3 seats were converted from Mill due to some functionality for using right angle aggregates that was thought to be exclusive to Router and I later learned that it was not.
  2. We have 4 CNC routers all using 18Mb and there is a switch on the control panel to have it shut the power off after reading an M30.
  3. MLS Lars is correct in what he is having you do but the way to turn the bug info on in the versions since X is to go into the control definition and go to NC Output and check the box next to Enable post file debug info, this will get you the info needed.
  4. I just tried this with the text height set to .19 and did a letter "R", when I do screen statistics I get 5 lines and 1 arc all on the same level. Maybe you have a corrupted install or something.
  5. Awesome, I will give that a try and see if it works for me to. Thanks Randy and Brett.
  6. I run into problems like that when I setup a tool to run CCW in the tool setup and then when you pick the tool to use in an operation it makes the spindle speed a negative number and will only post a M3, but if you remove the negative sign in front of the spindle speed then it will post the M4. It is almost like the negative spindle speed is canceling out the CCW spindle direction in the tool setup, this is in router but it seems like it might be just mastercam in general. I have mentioned this before but it doesn't seem like anything has ever been done about it.
  7. We have a Mikron CNC with the Heidenhain iTNC530 controller and the blum laser system and the engineer that was here to do our training added it as a misc. integer for our machine. Check it on when you want it or leave it off if you don't
  8. I do have administrator privileges on the pc, and I have modified the registry in the past. I did create multiple configurations to try tis and they still keep going back to default. Thanks for the replies.
  9. At some point between installing beta versions of MCX somehow I can set my display options the way I want them but when I shut down mastercam and reopen it the display options are back to default. Does anyone know what might have happened, I was thinking maybe something with the registry.
  10. Jim I did run the update post prior to posting this and double checked my WCS/Cplane/Tplane settings. This was all in good shape. Brett I made the changes you said to do in the control def and it worked like a charm. Now the code is identical to what version 9 posts. Thanks guys for your help.
  11. I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble posting out of MCX for a Heidenhain iTNC530. When I post the program and go to run it I keep getting an error in the machine that says 'Invalid arc center'. If I take the coordinates that it posts and try to plot them manually in mastercam there is no way the coordinates are right. I checked through the geometry numerous times looking for openings but found none. Then I went back to version 9 same geometry file just repicked the chains for the pocketing toolpath, posted it and worked like a charm. Anyone else having this problem?
