  1. absolutly, set it on a differant layer. you can also work wiyh multiple bmp`s on multiple layers. with a couple of try`s, i size mine in photoshop to get what i wanted so the pixels were veiwable and not too distorted. did you check out the "globe and anchor" or the "pow" ?
  2. It`s need the guns that kill - it`s the people behind them. We just had a person killed by a baseball bat, now the Democrats will want to outlaw baseball.
  3. I attempted this a while back. I ended up opening the BMP. in Photoshop and turning into gray scale. I then imported it into AutoCAD. Traced over it then IGS. it into MC. In the ftp site you will find the drawing called "Globe and Anchor" in the MC9 folder. This is the Marine Corp emblem. I admit it took a while but you can zoom in and out while you`re working on it and it doesn`t come out too bad. I machined this and the POW sign in stainless steel bumpers for my Jeep. The POW is also on the MC9 ftp site. Good luck.
  4. spas, then we are only talking 4 people. i`d be interested in 4 and a spare. in the bulk shipment - can you get a veriety of rims or do they all have to be the same? we all are gonna want different sizes.
  5. goodmorning all - i watched the bike ralley in florida on TV last night. WOW! there`s a lot of talent out there.
  6. of course - it`s the only one to use i`m in the process of a go-cart for the grand kid. i did the wheels (rims) like the real ones. i just got into MC a year ago. All I`ve ever done was design in cad. MC is cool. I wish I would have jumped in a long time ago.
  7. atleast jessey made his own. it was great watching him manufacture those tanks, were he would anneal with a tourch and pound out the shape. actually, most of the shops we work in have all the equiptment to do the same. just a bit of imagination and time
  8. jammer, you`d have to buy the blanks. once you have them you`d just have to measure them. do you have a CMM were you`re at?
  9. i mean, it`s like jesse james
  10. i`ve been hunting about 3 months. what a chore. i watched "orange county choppers" and saw them machining the wheels for fireman bike and said hay - i could do that with my jeep. do you get that show out there? it`s jesse james.
  11. i`ve been hunting a long time to find blank rims to custom machine for my jeep. anyone interested, i found them at "centerline" in Calf. 1-800-345-8671.
  12. i wanted to but plans have changed. have you noticed that a good percent of everyone on this site is from the mid-west or west coast? well, all i know is that the manufacturing has gone to crap here on the east coast.
  13. would it be too much - for one more e-mail copy. thanks very much.
  14. you are all welcome - it`s just a semper-fi thing. also there`s the mia-pow outline in the same ftp folder. i`m using that as well on my jeep bumper. i think i`m gonna etch them with the laser. i also have license plate holders drawn if you`re interested. they are monogramed with "jeep" on the bottom, but you can always modifiy the letters.
  15. Good afternoon, For anyone interested, I have posted the marine corp. globe and anchor on the ftp site in mc9 folder. i drew it for my new bumber on my jeep wrangle. hopefully someone else can use it also.
  16. i have used striker, an add on in autocad, to program the lasers and punches for years. i have just finish my first quarter in school for MC. i guess i`m now the back-up for the machining centers. i have written some laser programs using MC. it`s ownly an x and y position. no "z" involved. i`m finding the more i use MC, the more i like it. i`m sure it would fit your needs. talk to a local rep. good luck.
  17. what is absynthe? never heard of it. my son did bring me a case of sojo from korea that wasn`t bad. 30‰ formaldihide. what a punch!!!
  18. well, i don`t know about all you programmers but my day has ended and all this talk has made me thursty.
  19. Gentlemen, lets not forget Jack Daniels. He`s always a guest speaker at a party. He`s a card table special - 4 shots and your legs fold up.
  20. nice - didn`t think if that
  21. in fonts - copy the folder, invert the letters, then create, drafting note and load file. this way you have the letters forward and inverted.
  22. Even if we don`t find WMD I think just for the fact of all the mass murders that Sadam committed amoung his own people gave us justification for what we are doing. Whether we like it or not, this country does police the world. But, I think we should charge for the protection. Other wise, they`re on their own. I served 3 tours in Vietnam, USMC-Recon, and my world was **** when I returned home. It started as soon as I stepped off the plane in Calif. People throwing crap and yelling obscene remarks. But that`s OK. I feel a real sence of relief as far as this war and our soldiers. Most people are joined to see them as atleast doing a job if not honorable people and even heroes. The same with 9/11. Don`t you have a differant outlook on the fire fighters than before? I have a daughter over there flying the CH-47 and a son there in special forces. They are heroes to me. It`s just sad that we have to experience tragidy to learn the appreciation of what we do have. Right or wrong, I stand by our Commander and Chief. We have our problems but it`s still the best dam country in the world.
  23. Do you actually get a notice stating you are low on memory ¿. I had issues with this at one time. I went in and removed the computers rights to allocate the memory and did a manual allocation to maximum. It worked.
