Last night I shut down the computer like normal and this morning I started it and when I launched mastercam x7 this error pops up? I'm in the process of reinstalling now. What caused this? Looks like several other programs are not launching either
I'm running x7. I'll check the tool size tomorrow, think they might be running re grind roughers. They regrind the crap out of them. I remember having .750 em end up being .7 or smaller.
It's actually opticore toolpath and pocket toolpath. doesn't matter if I do a 10% or 70% stepover. If my tool has a nose radius some material is always left over in the center.
This has always bugged me. On a opticore toolpath, I always get a small amount of uncut material at the center when using a 3/4 rougher with .125 nose radius. If I use a flat bottom em it will cleanup. Regardless of my stepover distance how can I solve yhis?
Sounds like you did it right. Is the "direction" option checked.think it's on the surface parameters page. Try playing with that. Without a sample file it's hard to troubleshoot
not sure if you understand. The surface pocket path is leaving material at random depths. I'm taking of like 1.5" of material at .035doc. So it's not just the final depth it's almost everyone
already been doing that. I meant radially. The first pass at each depth gradually enters the part. So the first 45 inches of cut is between 10 and 40 % other diameter.
Problem I'm having is that I need 100% cleanup on each depth. Otherwise the inserts get destroyed when it finally overlaps those "pegs" sticking up.
Opticore worked alright, but the first cut doesn't engage very much so the inserts are just slapping the material.
I have core roughing programmed just trying to get 5 other machines up and running first
Hope this makes sense.
does 45 minutes toolife an index on these round inserts sound about right? I don't have much experience using insets. Milling ti 6-4 on a fadal. 325 rpm and 30 ipm. 035 doc. 1.25 stepover. This part I used surface pocket.
The other part I'm working on is the one I posted earlier today. I used opti core last year when a ran these parts. Using the same parameters.
My question, is opti core a good choice for a high feed cutter? By that I mean, keeping the tool engaged will prolong life? opti core will come in and out of the cut a lot. Although surface pocket stays in the cut most of the time ,its path is not smooth and slams the tool in each directional change.
The tool i have is Kyocera 2 inch button high feedd
Trying to keep the cycle time dowm.. I know I'll have to what it takes to get the job done. I have true spiral working at 1.4 stepover but takes 2 hours longer.
I have nice opti core path. But these damn fadal will not take it. Memory can't hold the unfiltered path. If I filter it the fadal throws a helical move too short error
Using a bull nose endmill with the surface pocket toolpath. ive always had trouble getting 100% cleanup at each z depth.
cant figure out how to get a full cleanup.
