I use the filter alot for surface finish toolpaths. Usually just set the total to like a thou or 2.. and about .01 for roughing. Also tell it to create arcs. Never had it set to .01 on a periphery cut before.
I only use it to make the code smaller For some of the old fadals and anilams
Ok. That's a bit of reilf. Already machined 30 parts to finish. It's titanium about 30. x 8. x 1.125" that would have been an expensive mistake. Due to the shape I cant really check the periphery. I can eyeball it with a scale.
no cmm or calipers that big.
Say I chain the periphery on my part.( the shape looks like a skateboard deck)..
I didn't notice that my arc\filter tolerance was set to .01" how much can it undercut the part?
question 2:
does back plot show the path with the filter or is that apply in the posting of the program?

I have a friend that needs two of these machined out of aluminum I honestly do not have the time to do it..

+1 for the webinar..ive played with tge editor a few times and just give up and edit the code myself..i hate doing that but i need to get the job done..
