At first i had the rapid retract checked... Un checked it and posted ...got the same thing ..checked it again and now its posting right . I dont know if I did something else in the process, But all is ok now. Thanks for the help.
V.8.1 I'm milling a pocket using depth cuts, and leaving stock on the walls and floors. The tool roughs out the first depth of the pocket, and as it goes to the next depth level, it moves in rapid instead of the plunge feed. The mat'l is graphite so I'm just plunging instead of ramping or helix. Am I just leaving something out or is it required to ramp or helix?
I'm just cutting around a diameter. when it gets to the end of the chain it is already in the position for the next pass just .1 above it then it plunges rapid instead of using the plunge feedrate i have specified
still does it. I have clearance and retract off, but have tried it with them on with the same results. feed plane .1 abs top of stock 0 abs depth -.5 abs cutter comp left xy stock to leave .015 and depth cuts set at .1 a pass
I'm having a similar problem, but the error i get says sp curve lies off surface. but i have got the same error as you before. we are using mcam version 8.1 and solidworks version 2003. i have tried different parasolid version numbers but havent had any luck. I convert from x_t. how do you convert from a sldprt file?

I have been having trouble with using the models created in solidworks. I use the parasolid converter. Only since we switched to the latest version have I experienced these problems. I get an error when the toolpath is being generated that says "sp-curve lies off surface". Any help would be appreciated
How do I change the direction of cut when I am using surface finish flowline. I have a 1 degree vertical rib that is 14 inches long and 1 inch high. The cutter wants to travel up and down rather than back and forth.
