  1. gcode thanks, im at home right nowand not in front of that computer but will try that tommorow a.m. should i expect i can get mcX to run with that card, or is it to far advanced? thank you , trevor
  2. john, somehow i new you wold be quick with a reply yes i am still on mastercam X. it loaded ok and i can open files etc. no problems. but the graphics seem strange when i scroll over the ops manager. other than that it is ok. for example dynamic rotate is good. we were on the phone with DELL today and did try 2 other drivers with no luck. before i do more pushing to update to X5 i need to cover all my options to be sure. thanks trevor
  3. good evening its been a while since i stopped by,but here is my dilema. i'm still using X and just got a new box with windows 7pro 64 bit, i seem to be having graphic isues. when i curor over ops manager my view area goes white.it comes back when i click back in the area however.also zoom by window leaves all kinds of tracer paths. the box set up is: win7pro 64 bit quadro fx 2000 1gig quad core 2.8 ghz 4 gig ram i realize mcX can not fully utilize 64 bit,but is it not compatable with the newer graphics card also? i tried a search on here and ran out of luck. thanks for your time, trevor
  4. thanks fellas, thats what i was hoping for. trevor
  5. John, how close is the mpmaster from the start? i do not want to invest a lot of time into something that could be real short term, with little reward.I do not need anything fancy, just basic to run a couple parts. thanks, trevor
  6. morning all, Imay need to do some programming for a haas vertical mill. the only post i have is from ver7 when i last ran one. my question is should i try to update this or start with verX... post and start modifing . this may be just a temporary thing. so, how close is the mpfan generic post out of the box? i am still using MCX MR2. thanks, trevor
  7. WOW, dont check back in for a day and all kinds of talk. for tose of you allresdy doing this thanks for your input. we will see how i make out. trevor
  8. john, thanks alot. i will let you know how i make out with this project. trevor
  9. john, thanks, what i was thinking is my first set up would be in a vise. at that time i will be putting some holes in the parts, the second set up would do work on the opp. side so i thought about having posts standing on the vacuum table to locate and help keep parts from potential shifting. how much vacuume pressure would i need to be looking at, ballpark number wise?
  10. morning all, i have some aluminum parts aprox.1"x4"x.187thick what is the feasability of using a vacuum table to hold them down? we need to do lots of these parts and i want to be able to set up a large group at one time. not a bunch of heavy cutting but it needs to be secure to make me sleep at night so any one with expeirence using vacuumes please advise thanks, trevor
  11. do you want the call all the time? if so you could simply include a call in the post like this: "M250", e$ "G5 P10000", e put the "G52" where ever you would like it. right now it is standing alone like what i wrote above look in the post for start of file and toolchange settings trevor
  12. try this: post snipet: can1, pbld, n$, *sgcode, *sgabsinc, pwcs, pfxout, pfyout, pfcout, *speed, *spindle, pgear, strcantext, e$ pbld, n$, "G43", *tlngno$, pfzout, scoolant, next_tool$, e$ this is from the psof section the scoolant call is what you want i believe. you will also need to look at tool change call outs to put a coolant call there as well. hope this helps, trevor
  13. update: my reseller (inovative solutions)took care of me and hooked me up with a new post. thanks for your thoughts trevor

  15. ron, version x mr2 makino v55 real old post that has been updated: 7 to 8 8 to 9 and now 9 to x this machine was only cutting graphite in the past and now it is back to steel so when i updated the post there where only select things i worried about. now that it is cutting steel it is time to get it working differently. i have not tried to see what happends with the default mpfan post yet. i will give it a try and see the results. my re seller is also looking at it for me right now. this post works well with v9 just something in the update has me stummped. thank you, trevor
  16. edm, i tryed to set the ref point on the parameter page like you had done but it is still not reading it right in the posted code. i think it is something as easy as the "e $" in the post that im missing but not sure. this post worked well in v9 but in X not so well. any more sugestions thank you, trevor
  17. edmbosto, thanks, but what i want is for it to be in the post.i do not want xo yo zo. if you look at the snipet it is positioning and then moving to the first hole to drill. this would be bad as my zo is ussually bottom of my part. big crash. the post is not picking reading my clearance height properly. hope this makes more sence? trevor
  18. good morning all, i would like to change the first x,y locations to have first hole location instead of 0 and the z location to be my clearance height instead of 0 also. it seems simple enough but im scratching my head. post snipet: % O0000 (PROGRAM NAME - ) (DATE=DD-MM-YY - 09-04-08 TIME=HH:MM - 09:00) (TOOL - 1 DIA. 22. good day all, i did a search and only came up with topics related to v9. in mcX is anyone having trouble running multiple sessions?everytime i open up mor than 1 session the windows in the background loose toolpatrh data. the ops arenpt x'ed out. i did not have this problem until i instaled mr1. any help on this? thanks trevor

  24. hello, i know ive been thru this before, but can not find the old thread. here goes..... i updated to mr1/sp2 and now my post is spitting out block delete lines.i backed up my post, mmd, and control def files and put all the files where they should be,hoping everything worked like before.is the mr1 not compatibe with the straight original mcx install? do i need to set up a new control def for mr1? i need my misc values tab to default mi1 to 2 and the box "automaticly set to post values when posting" turned on. it seems strange that i would have to go and redo all the confige files and control files. any help appreciated, trevor
