  6. chris, quote: __________________________________________________Can be 1 hour, can be 4 hours __________________________________________________ you must have to get on the mass pike, correct. thanks for all the replies .everyone.when i got out of school i had concidered a move to california. to be honest im glad i did not,now im leaning to eventually move my family up north.twards the adirondacks or white mountain region.i dont know if i could take the endless summers.id rather deal with black flies in may than heavy traffic on the interstate. trevor
  7. corey. you should try to get ahold of tesco if tool all is open to it i believe they still have a real good stocking program.they put them in and pay as u use them. btw, tooling may be cheaper up north but them boiled peanuts are sure hard to come by. trevor
  8. corey , are you working from home on some days?i know you had mentioned only needing to go in to the shop a couple days a week. trevor
  9. jabro, frasia, tesco tooling is for the most part all the same tool.certain brands will have varios sizes and shapes. i use them all the time for graphite and find the hold up just as well as crystalumme (robjack)for a fraction of the cost.i also just recieved a large amount for a job i need to hard cut,28 cutters in sizes from 2mm to 6mm various reaches for less than 1200 bucks all tornado series.i origanally ordered all osg, but there shipping is getting horible lately 2-3 delivery. as far as direct comparison to the brands you mentioned i would say they will performe even with osg. corey ,you said quote:Pricy and not worth the extra when have you compared lately ?the tooling prices beat osg by at least 2 bucks a tool and beat crystalumme by at least 50% on average. jm2c, trevor
  10. quote: __________________________________________________I commute from CHino Hills to Garbage Grove, errrr Garden Grove. I start at 5 and leave at 2-2:30. It's not bad with fast track __________________________________________________ hello, i did not want to hijack the thread i stole this qouye from so i started a new one. my question is why do you all choose long comutes?is it housing ,geography, great jobs. i have family that live in so. cal bonita to be exact.most of them work fairly close to home.the farthest being a comute into sandiego (that one is fairly long). im not knocking any ones reasoning just curios is all. i drive 22 miles each way to work, takes 1/2 hour during rush hour.i am considered to have a long ride by most people. thanks for your time, trevor
  11. tesco or osg would be my first choices .ihave cut hardened d-2 (60-62 rc)with tesco tooling down to a .6mm cutter (.0236 diameter)with no problems.im not sure the size of your part so just givin an example. hth, trevor
  12. hello , i know pro-e 2001 will do it real easy .we have wildfire also but i have not used it to give an answer on that. quote: __________________________________________________ If it will do it relatively easy, then I can get the Engineer to do it for me. __________________________________________________ aint that typical of an engineer, if it is too diffucult they get all worked up. trevor
  13. are your cutters the same brand and style you used in the past? could material be gumming up in the flutes? maybe try a higher helix cutter, like somthing from DATA FLUTE company. trevor
  14. i'll throw another one out there. how about parrallel steep. if you could put the file on the ftp it would help.as you can see there are many possibilities to machine a given part .that is the beuty of MC. trevor
  15. with all the "i hate it when" going on how bout this i love it when boss in on vacation i love it when i dont have to talk to the enginer i love it when im on vacation i could go on and on trevor

  19. corey, congrats on tyhe new job. is it tool all? hope all is well for you and family.hows about you learnin that wire?what mills are you running these days? trevor teh looking for answers.
  20. hey bullines, you said: __________________________________________________ totally entirely completely different __________________________________________________ seeing as your from canada it makes me think you listen to the tragically hip.that saying reminds me of fully completly trevor
  21. hijack qoute: __________________________________________________if you subscribe to AOL __________________________________________________ when i got my new computer for home last year(gateway) it came with 1 year free aol i told them i did not whant it and thet saidit had to get installed due to contract obligations.i must say that was the first thing i deleted off the hard drive. imo aol is a pain in the arse.worms are meant for fishing not cluttering up a hard drive. this is just my opinion sorry to offend. trevor

  23. quote: __________________________________________________ Now if I can only get 'em to add a lead in/out to the swept 2D path __________________________________________________ i agree if they could add a gap setting similar to whats in the flowline toolpaths that would be great. trevor
  24. im sure it wont be there by the end of the day. trevor
  25. davedm, i put a file on the ftp called " atest with surf" you did not have much for geometry so i was not sure what you actually wanted.take a look and let us know more specifically what your after.the wire frame you have will most likely not give you a smooth transition where it angles up. do you not have the capabilities to read a iges or something into mc? what mill level do you have? you said: quote __________________________________________________ I basically wanna cut this surface __________________________________________________ you have no surface. more info is needed to help you thru this in my opinion. trevor
