  1. sai, i sent you a email but it got kicked back to me? i will try to send a file to you from home tonight,i will include a few mc9 files with different options for you to look at. trevor
  2. sai, here is some more options to go with what was stated above. to create your geo make the tapped holes and reamed holes different sizes or colors.then when you go to drill you can use the mask on arc or color feature.you do not nessasarily need to use levels as john stated other than to keep your screen less cluttered.also when you use mask on arc it will prompt you for a tolerance range to use. as far as creating geometry just make one fo each hole then translate x and y your spacing. you do not need 3d to accomplish this.you could e mail me if you have any more questions i am right in town also. trevor edit: man i type slow, it took me 10 minutes to write the same thing rob did.guess ill never be a secretary. end edit

The one I looked at was 65K-70K. The controller looks a little suspect ________________________________________________ thats not quite affordable for a hobbiiest but thanks for the info thanks ,trevor

  7. thanks for the insight, yes it is the post from in house, pro 3 with sgi. the basics of the control i got down ,it was the fact that my world is now sideways, that concerns me. thanks for the tapping info. hopefully we wont slam the spindle into the tombstone figuring this beast out. thanks ,trevor
  8. morning forum, this is just a generic question to get me started. would the mp master post that i pulled from jays ftp be a good starting point to set up my post from. the machine has a pallet with index ability only (no simultaneus 4th axis) also anything i should look for right off the bat? thanks trevor edit: oh yeah its a fanuc 16m control i believe,im told similar to the 16i but older. end edit:
  9. thanks for the replies, i had not even considered the loss of z travel im not sure getting a machine with extra travel is even available on the makino.ill have to do more homework. trevor
  10. thanks greg, it looks the the set up we would get gets mounted to the side of machine.when it swaps pallets a door opens up and the table would move to the corresponding spot to shuttle them. it sounds like yours is manual,if im understanding your set up correctly. ours would be fully auto. thank you for your input. trevor
  11. good day all, i was looking to see if anyone out there had any expeirience with madaco pallet changers? we are looking at adding another makino mill to our floor. it would possibly be a S56 with a madaco pallet. any feed back good or bad thanks, trevor

  15. morning all, 99% of what i do is 3-d surfacing so i need more than just wireframe.but if all i was doing was drilling and contourind 2-d surfaces just get in the way, except as ron stated solid drill is a powerful feature to have. trevor hijack thread: kieth whats with all the photos in your tool bar?
  16. dave, quote: __________________________________________________ how come CNC does not enforce the "licensed users only" nature of this forum. __________________________________________________ i could be wrong on this, but i believe the forum is not run by cnc.our good neighbors up north set the board up. and they do require a sim # if you want an avatar after 200 posts.althou im sure cnc keeps an eye on all of us back to the original ? as far as the post being free ,nothing in life comes for free.everything has its price.in my experience asking for help here has always been positive and i always get a positive reply.just step quietly thru the door and youll be greeted with a smile trevor

  21. jay, could you be more specific on how you get it into the menu list please. trevor edit: jay i can see the strings for the file menu in the text file.my guess is it would need to go in the " next menu" section.if you could share how to edit it . would be sweet . thanks ,trevor end edit [ 11-18-2004, 11:02 AM: Message edited by: TREV ]
  22. thanks for your time cadist. thad i did what you sugest. i put it in the help icon. ( i like the picture it put there ) thanks also to the owl for your sugestion also. in closing i must say i cant believe it took 1 hour to get some feed back. you guys are slipping thanks to all, trevor
  23. cadist thanks for your time on this. this is what i would like to be able to do: file->converters->ug or file->converters->next menu->ug i need to keep it simple and familiar to others in the shop.at present i am opening the ug files via the chook by hitting alt-c then read file. hope to be making more sense, trevor
  24. cadist, no it is not a parasolid translayor ,it is a direct ug translater. right now i need to run a chook to read in all the files.its not that hard for me to do. i can remember alt-c gets me there but for others in the shop it would be easier for them to acces the same way as all the other translators. hope that makes more sense, trevor
  25. morning all, what im looking to do is put the ug translator right into my toolbar under the converters tab.i know i have seen this done with other c-hooks and was wondering if it is possible with this particular one.any insight greatly appreciated . thanks , trevor
