I want tot set up this part on my VF 11 machine use opti rough for rough all packet ,and I was thinking to order angle head for finish all off them

My question is ,how good the haas

is with the angle head calculation ,did this some special fixture on the control for use angle head ,did I need something extra from my mastercam reseller ,I should order angle head from HAAS or I can order from any company ?

thank you all for any help

With surface finish contour it treats al single surfaces as a contour to go all the way around the surface. You have to either create a boundary or in the advanced section use only between surfaces. Surface normal become very important here they will control inside or outside cutting of single surface when surfaces are used and not solids. sometimes you have to flip them to get what should work to work. Use the direction to get the tool in and out of the cut.

You have a couple of things working against you on this file. #1 that should be one surface for each feature not split surfaces. #2 Need to define the cutting length of the tool correctly. It is defined wrong for the cutting length. Recheck that. #3 I like 2D dynamic to rough undercuts with. #4 Flow line will work by turning off all gouge checks where one surface becomes extreme important. #5 Dumb the model down. Not sure why you are not dumbing the model down to create this shape verse using surfaces.

    image.png.f9f5ea1de37fddd69839e763933f6a32.png

To use Dynamic I had to add Point toolpaths to get the tool in and out of the operation. This is a situation where having more than one set of ref points would not make use use point to get in and out of the cut. I also had to use 3 operation since depth of cut will not go back to the center like ref points is doing. It would work with them, but

Attached is a link to the file with these changes and flowline added. See what happens when someone shares a file.

    5th Axis Coupling

Run ,can you take look on my parallel toolpath ,I want to get clean nice toolpath for finish my side packets

I've cheated this before by making an opposite rad surface toolpath on the inside with the bottom of the tool, and let the back of the tool cut the part.

I'd load a picture but my "max total size" is set for 1.45 kB.

Can you post  zip to go  file ?

  7. Hello all ,I am using  generic 2axis fanuc  postprocesor for my lathe machine

When I am post my code I dont have any information about my insert  like shape or angle and corner rad .Haw I can change the post for get all this information in my codes

    thank you for any help

What happens when you push the Y jog button.

I dont see a horizontal slide below the X axis slide. Those 2 slides would move together to create the Y movement.

I am try jog  Y axis  ,do not work

Look inside the machine, if it is a Y axis it will have live tooling. Also look at the tooling cupboard and see if they have live tool heads for it.

    thank you

  11. Good morning All ,I am new person in lathe world .we have this lathe cnc  machine in our shop .This machine has live tooling option ?

    Greetings @mirek1017

    Before I go on,
Whatever you do in your post it's on your own responsibility.

Follow this steps and you will have output which you want, related with insert width for groove tools
    1.
Create format statement if you don't have it already
    fs2 25  1.4 1.2lt   #Decimal, absolute, 4/3 trailing

    2.
    Create new variable:
fmt  "Groove Insert Width = "   25  groove_width  # Tool width for programming ( "Groove Insert Width = "  you can change the name how ever you like)

    3.
Go to pparameter$ postblock (there is one more way which doesn't require this)
    add : if prmcode$ = 20102, groove_width = rparsngl(sparameter$, 4)  # Capture insert width for grooving tools
make sure you will follow the order of the numbers (just to keep it tidy)

    4.
Go to ltlchg$   #Toolchange, lathe  postblock
    Search for Comment$ predefined variable,
now past this either above or under comment$ variable ( you decide)
    if opcode$ = 103, sopen_prn, sline, groove_width, sline, sclose_prn, e$
what it will do is this
if opcode$ is equal to 103 (103 means Groove) print ( | value which is stored in the groove_width variable | )  new line ( e$ means new line)
other then that add new strings in your post
    scomm_str   : "("
    scomm_end   : ")"
    sline       : " | "

    now this is our :

    (  |  Groove Insert Width = 2.00  |  )
    ( #6. Operation type -  Plunge rough; also, chained grooves  |    )

    just because I pasted  if opcode$ = 103, sopen_prn, sline, groove_width, sline, sclose_prn, e$ above predefined comment$ variable
our output is before  ( #6. Operation type -  Plunge rough; also, chained grooves  |    )

This is your personal decision how you want it.

I hope this can help you.

If you need more help/information's feel free to contact me.

    kind regards

    Ivan.

    thank you  I  will try
