  1. Hey Guys, Good to hear from all of you.. Yeah I'm still alive and kicking. Myself and My partner Dave C. and our company work directly for CNC Software these days. That was our stuff in the introduction video.. Thanks for asking.. Hope your liking X so far... Lots of good stuff in the future stick with it!! Cheers and Chips Chuck
  2. Hey Thad, Who was the main presenter for the X seminar? I used to Work at Axsys. I was wondering who's the new main man now on X these days... Chuck
  3. Taking advantage of training opportunites is usually the missing piece of the puzzle for must people and is often overlooked. As someone who trained 100's of Mastercam classes over the years I can tell you that I had many, many people who changed their minds after they took some time to get informed as to whats possible. I was in hundreds of shops over the years and those of you who are tied to your shops daily probobly don't realize how poor the average skill level in the shops are. It's amazing that so many companies are willing to pay for ineffiencies in their daily workflow but are unwilling to invest a few days a year in staying current and proficient. I can tell you first hand that the Asian manufactures love that we think that way in the states and are taking advantage of it everyday. The people on this forum are the good one's. You all would be shocked at how many shops I've run into with the poor guys on the floor redrawing Cad Data because nobody ever took the time to learn how to import Data effectively from engineering and making a process plan. That's one simple example but it goes on and on. This forum a great source of info... But sadly most users don't use it on a regular basis. Resistance to change is a prescription for that greeter job at the Walmart. Information is power and Job security... Come on guys get ya some! Get some formal training and Give the software a fair chance..
  4. Good point Mike, As many of you that can make a intro seminar the better off you will be using and migrating to X. Nothing beats a "formal training class" but at least a seminar is a step in the right direction. For those of you who haven't been to an actual training class in a while "X" is good excuse for sure. Training always pays for itself quickly. Save the Brain drain its unneccesary when all the info is available I trained Mastercam for years in Michigan and never understood why the bosses will pay for lost productivity day in and out but grumble about a 2 day training class to keep his people current. The Chinese love that we think that way in this country. It's just plain dumb!! It was shocking to see shops taking 10 hours to do everyday what could be done in 1 hour.. Information is power and job security ... Get ya Some
  5. Hey Randy, Glad to hear you will be Xing soon Cheers Chuck
  6. When looking for tangent to two entities look to edge points now in X...
  7. Hi guy, With respect to post errors the official advice is to contact you reseller to correct any errors logs I believe. Hopefully you followed your instructions on the migration worksheets closely it walks you through most of the updating processes. Normally you will see a error log file output when things don't cross over cleanly.
  8. Thad, Typically in Demo the math values are corrupted as part of the protection of the Software. At least that's been the case in the past. Cheers and Chips Chuck
  9. Hey Thad and Randy, Thad we are not consulting in Michigan any longer. We just are too busy with our own projects these days. Thanks for asking though. Randy, hey man its me yep still riding the harley and trying to become less FAT and more PHAT. Hope your doing good. I think you will like X when you get it. We have been banging on it for a while now and are even more excited about whats coming down the road inside of X. This is just the start of a whole new ballgame. I'm sure lots of great things for X are in the works both in the near term and the longterm. Everyone will be glad they stuck it out during the transition.
  10. Jeff, Maybe Thad can hook you up with an X Demo disk he's got one in westland.. Then you could get started learning
  11. I used to sell those divici servo's from techno and they are quality routers... Of course Mcam would be a better software choice and Mastercam also has much better cirriculum available besides even all the help you get on the forums and the like. The servo machine will be a nice step up from the stepper you have been using. good luck Chuck
