harryman, check this out, i just got done talking to the integrex programmer here, the freeking engineer of the integrex machine calls here to ask our programmer how to do certain tasks. andrew was so correct when he said i opened the gates of hell, in mazatrol programming in =b= axis programming(drilling that is),if you want to drill deeper, the programmer has to read a macro that does a sh_t load of trig,(that he wrote) to accomplish this task. otherwise it will just move deeper in =z= axis. to all that has been following this forum, i don't need factory training, i think i have one of the best here, when i said this guy was good, really good, i believe it's an under statement. quote: Treat that Integrex dude right. i'm new to the forum, but i plan on sticking around a wile. so u silverbacks may already do this. "tip" open a word doc. or note pad and save a file to copy and paste info. you get from the forum. this way u can save what YOU need in your own folder. this way wei don't have to go back and find something. the folder could become a quite valuable and powerful tool. cory

also, unless you manualy turn spindle on, you will have to repeat this comand also. this is assuming that your trying to start on the p line

"the road less traveled" i really sense, the intergrex mazak programmer has a resentment towards me and mastercam. this guy is good, i mean really good. i can tell he has poured blood, sweat and loss of sleep into these machines. and now he sees me wanting to do it all on mc. he's writing his own macros and does all the set ups. this is the kind guy every employer dreams of having. but you know the saying,"it's quicker to program on mazaks" this doesn't hold true when it comes to these machines. it takes him a long time also, you r right about how they define there machines. we have 3 or 4 5axis mazaks. i found out the other day, these machines do not operate in all axis simultaneously. there basically 4 axis with a tilt. the true 5axix mazak comes with a fanuc controll. crazy millman you right, when i finally get strapped in the mastercam seat again i will offer all know. nobody in pa. ca. or ma. is going to take my job. for a long time, i wanted to stop doing what i know and teach it. be back soon cory [ 08-15-2003, 09:11 AM: Message edited by: cg777 ]

i got your program u sent, i have to wait until (i call him master) is done with a set up before we can test your program. harryman, i found out what M302 is it tells the machine to switch to sub spindle. this is accomplished by G112 in this machine, this going to be a freeking nightmare.

harryman the machine we r trying this sample on, is a sub spindle machine. but so is the prog. it worked well in verify, but not at the machine. the programmer that works on the sub spindle machine says this M302 is wrong. "command does not exist" he says. cg777

harrryman, i need help. is it possible you can send me a working prog. in eia format that was posted in mc. otherwise i'm going to have a hard time prooving that this can work. the integrex programmer seems to think mc does not have a working post, so far he correct, the one mc posted yesterday is alarming out all over the place. like M302 (whats this, it's not even in the book. the g41 and g42 r in the wrong places, i thought this might because the sales man didn't include lead in and lead out in parameters when programming. but i edited the program and it's still al @^&^*&(^( up. cg777 [email protected]

BUT AFTER 16 YEARS OF THIS AND BEING LET GO FORM ONE POSITIONS BECAUSE YOU KNOW MORE THAN THE PLANT MANAGER THAT HAS BEEN THERE LONGER AND LAID OFF OVER 1/2 _SS MACHINIST BECAUSE YOU MAKE MORE MONEY, THERE JUST SEEMS TO BE NO FUN IT ANY MORE. IT'S BECOME JUST A JOB. (sorry about the caps, i wasn't paying attention.) i am looking forward to getting back on mc. unigraphics was a big enough learning curve that kinda sucked. if any one was like me and thought ug and pro e are gods in the cam world, they are deceived just like i was. i'm not saying ug is bad, but a lot of the toolpathing is all trial and error until you get the path you want. mr. crazy millman, i have read back over this forum and i must say u have my respect. thanks for your info. by the way, the prog. that sales man posted for the integrex did not work. this discuraged the integrex programmer but he seemed ok with it. (job security, if u know what i mean)but i looked at the EIA program, the alarms where do to minor commands in the post. for example, there was a G41 on the same line as a (z move). what seemed minor to me was a big deal on the floor. the only fun i have these days is when i'm with my 3 daughters or fishing in canada.

well people, the sales man for mastercam is coming today... thanks to all that posted,in retospect to integrex, i will stump him with all the specs and information i obtained from this kick _SS forum. i was just handed the video cd the mc has on integrex. i must check this out.
