  1. This video is a short version of what I saw the other night on the news. There's about a minute of footage that was cropped from the beginning. The one I saw show a guy going into the back of the truck and taking out a large (maybe 4'-5' long) tubular object and laying out in the farmer's field. There was talk by the good guys that it was either an rpg or a sam. Then when the guy ran back to ride the tractor he got the order to explode their bodies into chunks. I read a comment on a news page somewhere where they asked one of the pilots why did they have to kill them with such a big gun. He told them that "they were about a mile and a half away, and the 50 caliber was the smallest gun they had". Too bad the clip doesn't include the first minute to silence all the whiners who said we shot farmers.
  2. HOW DO I GET THIS FILE? WHERE'S THE FTP SITE? Thanks in advance.
  3. quote: There are some folks in here that I would rather not see their input. Can we get a way to block users that we can do without their crap? And should you be the one to select whom to block? (such arrogance! wow.) If you already know which members you don't want to read, then you already have that power. DON'T READ THEIR RESPONSES .
  4. FREEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!
  5. quote: Would anyone mind if we held up the release to research this further? And that's the crux of my question: HOW MUCH research DID you do to come up with X ?
  6. If they wait a little while until Bush's Legal Slavery For Immigrants bill gets enacted, they'll be able to find a programmer for about $4.50 an hour.
  7. So is the next release after "X" going to be "Y"? or "XII"? I just don't think it does Mastercam justice. Sounds like you guys couldn't think of a name, started calling it "X", and it happened to also be the Roman numeral for 10, and it stuck. The letter "X" usually signifies "crossing out" or "stamping out" something. Mastercam is #1 in installed seats world wide, but remember what happened to the Roman Empire. It also means "to multiply". "Mutliply your productivity by the power of X". Hey - that's not too bad! But now you can't use it because I said it first! Unless you want my lawyers to come after you guys for royalty fees
  8. Sounds like you guys didn't put much thought into the new release's name. I hope you didn't pay some advertising firm to come up with that lame name. Mastercam is deserving of a better name, like Mastercam Luther.
  9. And make 'em learn ENGLISH. Sounds like a way to have easy access to a cheap labor pool. They say these are jobs no Americans want, but now are giving you up to a whopping two weeks to apply for one. This whole mess sends one big message "We are overwhelmed and can't prosecute the law breakers, so come on up so at least we can get cheap labor out of the deal." The problem is, while they're hear they'll be popping out little bambinos who are automatically citizens. Free education, free health care, can't deport the parents. At best guess we have 8-10 million illegals in this country. With this policy we'll have 50 million by 2025.
  10. Be careful what you wish for. We probably won't recognize it when we see it. And that means "learning curve while the boss is screaming for programs". I hope you like icons instead of a word driven menu.
  11. Make it go away (ONLY KIDDING!!!) Actually, I use it all the time and it's extremely powerful, if you plan ahead for its use and know how it works ahead of time. I like it. It did take some getting used to though. Make the interface simpler, although I don't know how you would do that and still make all the options available.
  12. Do you have the "Delete empty groups" checked ON in your operation manager display options? Maybe when the toolpath fails it never gets the chance to be assigned to the active group, gets stuffed in the 1st group and the empty 2nd group gets deleted? Just a thought...
  13. Used to work with a guy who was a "close talker". If any of you saw that episode of Seinfeld, you know what that is. Not only did it stink, you usually found out about it when he was 3 inches from your nose when he went to speak to you. Because his sexual orientation was already in question, he was nicknamed "c*ck breath". Pretty friggin' gross, I'll tell you.
  14. How about BAD BO? And I'm not talking "normal" BO, but BO so bad that you know who was in the room 15 minutes before you. And the worse part is, you tell the boss and he tells YOU to go tell him to take a !#!# shower because they're too cowardly to do their "managers" job of managing smelly *ss pig employees.
  15. WARNING: Politics Ahead! Thanks for your words of wisdom and experience, Dean. I hope this d*ckhead gets the democratic nomination. That way W will win. quote: But the capture of Saddam has not made America safer. quote: The difficulties and tragedies we have faced in Iraq show that the administration launched the war in the wrong way, at the wrong time, with inadequate planning, insufficient help, and at unbelievable cost. An administration prepared to work with others in true partnership might have been able, if it found no alternative to Saddam's ouster, to then rebuild Iraq with far less cost and risk Fulfilling the Promise of America
  16. Put this guy on trial in front of the world. Let the world SEE the evidence of mass killing, mass graves, torture & rape (in front of their families) and all the other atrocities this evil b*stard has committed. Once all this is out, you will truly see "Who is with us, and who is against us". And "us" will now be the free world, not just the U.S.A. There can be no longer be denying of the evil by the pacifist French or Germans who idly sit on the sidelines waiting to run over the sand stained with U.S.A blood to get in on some of the reconstruction contract booty. Then we can watch on T.V. all the Mullahs try to justify how their torturous dictaorships are different from Iraq's. You may or may not like Bush, but years from now history will show that only America had the nuts to clean up the evil and try to make other countries free. quote: The only territories we hold are memorials like this one and graveyards where our heroes rest. Ronald Reagan's "D-Day" Memorial Speech
  17. I read in a thread here a while back that PTC attempted to have a person’s employment terminated because they viewed him as an obstacle to getting their system sold into the company. I think the company chose Mastercam (yay!). The conspiracy monger inside of me tells me that this is just one of their strategies that they’ve been taught by the home office to do whatever t takes to sell their system. If true, this is pretty low. And if it was made common knowledge that this is a standard technique that that use, I’m sure it would have potential PTC customers seriously reconsider what kind of company PTC is and what they could expect for any kind of support they’d get after forking out the big bucks per seat and realizing that they should plan to have a good part to cut come off one of their system for at least 3 months (while the machines sit idle). Any one else have any PTC stories (or warnings) ?
  18. quote: The thing that has always impressed me about CNC Software however is that since I have gotten involved with MasterCam, they seem to continue to improve the product in areas that are useful to me. Along with the features and products neccessary to keep the product marketable to new customers, there seems to be a genuine commitment to improving the product for the benefit of the existing customer base (IMHO of course). One of the reasons is that they actually have people there working, writing & designing the software that (along with us) have hot chip scars.
  19. Rename your .op9 library file to a .mc9 and bring it up like a regular mastercam file and edit to your heart's content. After you're done, save it as an .mc9 and then rename the extension back to a .op9 and you're golden.
  20. I don't have lathe, but I have wire, and wire works the same way as mill. First select the operation's top branch (the one with the number and operation type description). It highlights and the check mark is displayed. With the focus still on the same item, select it the second time. It should temporarily hide the description and display just the operation's comment, which you can now edit. Hit the enter key when done. Make sure the "Operation comments" display option is checked ON in your operation mgr display options.
  21. quote: I see what you mean now. You are correct that the opp manager only says "lathe drill" but on the parameter page you can type in what ever you would like to have displayed, in the "comments" box. This will then show up in the opp manager page. You don't have to open up the operation's parameters to edit the comment field. Simply double-click on the operation's top branch and edit it directly from the tree.
  22. 250 down, only 11,999,750 more to go. http://money.cnn.com/2003/10/23/news/compa...dex.htm?CNN=yes
  23. quote: Did you find this by yourself or did someone point you to it. Friends in high places
  24. The text tool library has a defined format (obvious statement). But it allows users who are fluent in a programming language (like BASIC) to write "tool library generation" utilities that will output a text file in this format to be imported into a Mastercam tool library. Scenario: you want to automatically create a library of drills with diameters starting at .0015 up to 3.000 in increments of .015625. That's a lot of drills to do one by one, so you write some Visual Basic program that loops and increments to create this text file. Saves a lot of time. SECRET FUNCTION ALERT! If you go into your mill9.txt file and enable #4564 by changing the text from 4564. "" &Make lib" to 4564. "&Make lib" you'll have access to a utility that does this for you in your NC Utils/Def Tools menu.
