Hello all,
I am considering this software for job tracking purposes. Just curious if anybody here uses it and what they think of it? Also, is there a similar software I should be considering?
Thanks
I use BALAX 1.0 and 1.2 taps every day in 6061. I average over 2000 holes per tap. If I had to stop and put oil on the tap before tapping I would be out of business. My taps are chrome plated by BALAX, this helped a lot. My coolant is semi-synthetic. You should not have any problems increasing your tool life by going to chrome plate.
I had a lot of problems prior to MR1. But now I would sure hate to go back to 9.1. X has saved me a lot of time. It is well worth spending the time to configure it the way you want it.
Thanks John.
It certainly appeares to be a bug but my reseller was not saying that was the issue. That is why I posted the issue here. I feel better knowing I am not the only one with this problem.
Thanks again.
When I use version X to open up my version 9.1 files the drilling cycles post fine. When I regenerate the operation it then outputs a F0. after every new hole location!
Here is a copy of the problem. Line 8.
N2 T12 M06 ( 1/8 SPOTDRILL G110870)
N3 (MAX - Z.1)
N4 (MIN - Z-.021)
N5 G00 G90 X.1171 Y.1229 S12000 M03
N6 G43 H12 Z.1 M08
N7 G99 G81 Z-.021 R.1 F10.
N8 X.6001 F0.
N9 G80 M09
N10 M05
N11 G91 G28 Z0.
What the heck would be causing this??? It happens regardless of the post I use, or the seat of mastercam. My reseller has not been able to help so far. Does anyone else have this problem?
I agree completely Saipem. I would not want to go back to version 9.1 SP2. Mastercam X is so customizable it has reduced my programming time by about 25 percent. I think too many times people complain about changes without understanding the reasons why. Kudos to CNC software, great job!!!!!!!
I am just now trying this peck tapping. It seems to be working good. I jaust put a Q in the g84 line and it seems to stop the spindle at the increment specified. My question is should it retract out of the hole? It seems to only stop the spindle.
Thank you Gunther, please don't mistake my questions for criticism. I love this setup sheet, I am just one to tinker with everything. I am so glad to get away from mill2.set!
