  1. Oh I see now why his on the video is different. It's MCfsw - MasterCam for Solid Works - that makes a whole lot of difference. So now the question is, do you have to have Solidworks in order to build machines for MasterCAM machine simulator?
  2. Verification won't help with buggy software. MCX has me perplexed. There's a lot of great new additions, but at the cost of losing trusted legacy functions, and introducing unreliable buggy functionality. Be very careful translating anything in MCX
  3. There's also another switch to be selected for checking for collisions with fixtures under options file -> options -> check on "Check against fixture"
  4. I've found that the machine simulation works with WCS. Even building fixture and stl stock material in WCS. It'll work with most of the default machine simulators. There is a trick that the solid will stick to the machine table. So you have to build some solid a distance below from where your intended Z zero level will be. So if you're planning to have your stock like 10 inches above the table. Then you need to build a solid stock sheet 10 inches below your intended stock. I have however found it quite cumbersome to developing a new Machine simulator to a specific machine configuration. There's a video on Youtube and has been shared around the forum in places, but I'm not sure what the guy in the video is using because I can't seem to find those functions in a regular licensed copy of MCX?
  5. thanks for sharing the video, but where are these functions in MC 2017? I can't seem to find them or much documentation about the simulation
  6. Not sure if anyone is still interested in the topic, but it is possible to have a 5 axis post without the psb You just have to be ready to override all the functions that previous PSB's took care of. If anyone is still interested I'd be wiling to share some files under a GNU open source license.
