  1. The localization is done by replacing some files after the install is complete. This is done automatically by the installation software. Now I assume you have only a DVD installation media? If so, you can do the next: 1. Copy the x64 or the x86 -folder to you desktop. 2. Go to data -> Mastercam X6 Demo-HLE and delete the translate -folder 3. Open the mastercam.ini which is at the Mastercam X6 Demo-HLE -folder 4. Remove the semicolon (;) before english 5. Put a semicolon before finnish 6. Replace the word finnish with english in the [defaultLanguage] -line 7. Start the install and select repair Second option is to ask for an English installation DVD, which we will be more than happy to send you.
  2. I have never seen G2 or G3 used with rotary axis. Is it even possible? If you have A-180 and you give G1 A180, the machine should just rotate the A-axis? This should look like an arc move in backplot.
  3. Open the post and search for sg28. you should have something like this there: pbld, n$, sgabsinc, sgcode, *sg28ref, "Z0.", scoolant, e$ if nextop$ = 1003 | tlchg_home, pbld, n$, *sg28ref, "X0.", "Y0.", protretinc, e$ else, pbld, n$, protretinc, e$ See if you can add the "X0.", there if it's missing.
  4. We sell those here in Finland, so I have used it a lot. It can do reverse and inspection. You can also use it to inspect paper drawings. I have attached a picture of a part that I reversed using 3Dgage. I then used the Robotmaster-addon to cut the same part (scaled smaller) with a robot. Then I could inspect the part I just cut, to see if it came out right. The robot had default parameters, so it had a habit of messing around in Z-direction. One of our customers uses it to make custom rally and historic car parts. They can reverse the old part so it looks historically correct, and machine a fresh copy from solid aluminum block. After machining, they can inspect it to see, if the part is ok.
  5. You can open parasolid files in Design without solids. So that's not the reason. My best guess is that the file has corrupted. Do you have it on a USB-stick, or has it been in one? Try to open the file in KeyCreator. Also you can open KeyCreator files directly to Mastercam, without the need of translating them to something else.
  6. We have multiple software’s running from a network drive, so that the actual program is in the network drive. Mastercam is installed locally, but most files are accessed from the network. When we got these new Intel I7 computers with Windows 7 to our office, they ware fast enough to freeze our server. The reason for this was that we had updated our network to gigabit speed, but the server had low speed busses on the mother board. So the Ethernet adapter, even though it was a gigabit card, could not keep up. This would crash software running from network, we had problem when saving larger files, etc. We then got a Buffalo terastation III and made it our dataserver. This made all programs run faster and the problem was solved. It supports Active Directory, so it works like if the drives would be on the server. Other solution would have been to update the server, but this would cost multiple times more than the terastation.
  7. As I understand it, my i7 doesn't have a temperature meter. The temperature is calculated from voltages and some other integers. When the calculated value reaches 100, the processor starts to drop the multiplier to slow down the processor and keep the calculated value under 100. In my tests, this really hapens. After several minutes off full load, the temperature integer value get's to 100, and the multiplier drops. But a better cooler could not hurt.
  8. Hi all! I found an easy way to significantly improve calculation times on i7. My original time was around 1:30 with my i7 model 920, but I was able to get 1:13 by changing the default BCLK (aka. base frequency) from 133 MHz to 200 MHz. As I understand it, this one setting affects memory, CPU and BUS speeds. Basically my processor went from 2,7 GHz to 4,2 GHz. These setting are machine specific, so you need to google or test the right setting. And of course you can get even more by changing voltages etc, but that is more complicated and it easier to break something. When I tried with custom voltages etc, it toke over two minutes to complete. We tried this on Reijo’s i7, which is model 860, and there 180 MHz was too much. We settled for 150 MHz, even though it probably could take more. The original time was 1:48 and with the change, it was 1:32. Some motherboards, like mine X58M, have this ability to test the highest setting automatically. In my case, it didn’t work, but it should be the safest way, so you should at least try it. Here’s my hardware: Intel i7 920 over clocked to 4.2 GHz MSi X58M board 6144 MB of DDR3 memory NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 Windows 7 64-bit I also changed the Affinity settings from the task manager, since for some reason, the default for Mastercam in my system is only one core. With only one selected, it calculates 50% slower, since it using, one core. So by clicking the Mastercam.exe, from the process-menu, with my right mouse button, I can get to the affinity settings. There I can choose that Mastercam.exe can use all cores. Edit: I would also like to add, that the multi-threading didn't make any differense to the calculations. The time was the same.
  9. Are these lines like this: fmt A 11 cabs #C axis position fmt A 14 cinc #C axis position If that A is replaced whit a different letter, it should change the output letter.
  10. Try disabling your accelerations from Configuration -> Screen -> Disable hardware acceleration. You can also go to your Windows settings -> Screen -> Settings -> advenced -> Trobleshooting and move the slider to the second from the left. Disabling accelerations helps in 90% of screen problem cases.
  11. Hi ! I was amaze that I could download Mastercam 9.1 full version whit Mill L3, Lathe, Wire and Solids under one hour by using Kazaa. Even the installation was easy. But I think that this is no news to CNC Software.
  12. I really don't know how it happened, but I'm clad that it is working now. BTW, how can I get a picture below my name?
  13. If I open some MC9 file the screen is blank. After that I set the view to top and fit to window. Still nothing. Then I use dynamic view and fit to window. Now I can see the part. This was caused by installation problem. After re-installing everything was fine.
