  2. i gave it a shot using flowline...check it out if you want its called watermaker-op1fix
  3. Its a Heidenhein controller and your going to end up with problems with Mastercam...unless a single post has been developed for it ...and yeah support is really down the tubes ...we just finally got a technician that works in australia and not have to fly them in from germany ...we had a spindle go on one machine...6 weeks to repair...bearings on another and that took a yr to replace...thank god it was still under warranty.....tool door switch went a month ago....that took 3 weeks to get the right one ..the supplier sent us 2 wrong ones from Bosch before we got the right one flown in from Germany at 3 times the price....so um ...save your airfare ....hunt for something else...and good luck
  4. The only time i have seen that is when i have a my tool plane and my construction plane set differently from each other...your using a horizontal are you not?...and programming from the front?

  9. hey guys you might be interested to know...DMG now has a service dept here in australia!!!!!!!!!!!! The service manager just replaced the spindle bearings on one of our machines yesterday...name is Ian Dowling..MObile 0421 999 379...in case you have any troubles...Lotsa luck ")
  10. Onya Bruce!!!! "Remember to cancel any and all datum shifts" Isnt that like a heidenhein...you turn it on.. you gotta remember to turn it off....or it will bite ya ....my boss here wouldnt pay for the developement of this 4 axis post so i ended up making it myself...pain in the xxxx but hey i guess it was a learning experience...lol If I might impose Bruce... say hello to Craig J. for me...I used to work with him at EGR....and we'll get his jig to him as soon as someone here gets it on the mazak...lol
  11. if you want to go cheap...go the daewoo...if you got the money and you want to see the machine still around in 10 yrs...go the makino!!!!! I must inform you that this is a biased opinion. About 10 yrs ago I had a 10 yr old refitted 50 taper makino throw a 2600 lb mould cavity off the table at me (slide reader was cracked and lost postition) machine was doing 350 inches a min with a 4 inch bullnose cutter buried about 2 1/5 down ...machine didnt miss a beat...just busted the clamps holding the plate and plowed into the side of the cavity..that was the last i saw of the cutter...(too busy trying to get out of the way of the mould cavity)... after i hit the emergency stop, I called in the pros I was afraid to start the machine in case i would bugger the motor....hoping maybe to save the bearings,spindle,.. anything, because they weren't to many makinos around with 3.5 x 2 meter tables around for spare parts...they spent about 2 hours checking the machine...pulled out the busted arbour and started her up...the X reader was replaced for about 1500 canadian...and the mould cavity got a big insert...ever since then i have had sweet spot in my heart for makinos...i have seen other machines take similar crashs but failed to survive without replacing spindles, bearings or drive screws... so yeah if you got the money ...go the makino
  12. hey i can laugh harder at my fellow canucks cause im on the other side of the planet...hahahahahahaha....when are they gonna learn to immigrate to a warmer climate...heheheheheh....hohohohohoh....

ahhh hey i think i walked into the right room here...has mastercam gotten into any animation features yet?....i was playing with that with UG and a little with Solid Works at EGR in australia here and was wondering if maybe Mastercam has stepped up to the plate yet? You see my new boss here at Geneng keeps me in the closet and well you know what mushrooms get fed...When i do get back to Windsor Ontario I would like to be a little with the times ya know ...lol
  14. I have actually drawn up what they call a Queenslander that im in the process of building...just brought it into a home builder for a quote ...took some time and effort ,,but hey was worth every hour

  18. you think maybe we should do away with elections and just have the monarchy come back...you know when there was anarchy and destruction like the good ole dark ages ...oh wait a min.....thats happening now...sheesh....cant win either way...lol.... and that quip about bashing the canadians thing ....i wont take offence...i might take the house....the car...even your dog...but i wont take a fence
  19. its all a blur to me ...god my employers have had me learn cimatron....mastercam ...unigraghics...lemoine...duct...and the list goes on for the last 20 yrs but supprisingly we keep comong back to mastercam...tis fast and efficient on the floor...especially with tooling amd beats ruuning back and forth from the office all the time but i still do all my serious modelling with unigraghics
  20. ...Thanks for inquiring Don S... The machines are sodicks and to do 4 axis machining i have to use the version 7 with the old post ...when i tried version 9.1 and updated the post i was getting scalloping and less then half of the info in the programs
  21. right on cutterman ..thanks ....i hope i hear from him soon....now about that wire thing...scalloping ...is there a setting i should know about?
  22. I work at Geneng in Beenleigh,QLD Australia...Im a Canadian that has been here at this job for about 6 months now...its only just now that i have recently heard about this forum...lol... so here i am ")
  23. Thanks for the welcome guys ....heck where do i start? Ok here it goes>,,,whom here has a solution to heidanhain's conflicts to cycle def 19?...sadly this has been a hinderance when rotating the head on my machine ....not to mention the fact that my predecessors lost the post here at Geneng and i have had to start from scratch...cut here ...paste there..the support ppl here in brisbane did not have any backups of the post and some how all copies of for these machines disappeared when my predecessor left so as it stands i have gotten this far... i have got the head to rotate and i dont have any errors anymore in my post.. but i lose my wcs position when i do rotate the head ...im thinking i might be forced to use the work positions in the machine and pick up everytime i index the head at a different angle...can i get away from this? i also have 3 wire edms that cant do 4 axis cutting without scalloping the parts ...i tried to update the old post but it does nothing ...so im force to switch from ver7 to ver 9 all the time
  24. should have gone with rear projection screen and then you could have used it like a hud on the front window ...lol
  25. yeah i got to give that one a try ...heheh and it works sheesh thanks Hardmill ))))
