  1. I learned from a post here, and I also noticed it says the same in the help file, that setting stepup/stepdown the same is supposed to detect flats. But it doesn't seem to work like it should very often.
  2. Any time I use an optirough/rest toolpath, it wants to make this little step at the top of the part. It's almost never necessary for the sake of roughing, in my experience, and wasted cutting time. How can I avoid this? I can't share this file, but on this particular tool path, I have stepdown/stepup set the same, to pay attention to just the flats.
  3. I'm using a model chamfer toolpath, and it's outputting the lead-in feedrate at the "plunge feedrate" speed. Is there a way to change this?
  4. Our experience with Methods has been great.
  5. The YBM-8T is a wild machine. I believe methods did a time lapse video of the actual install of our machine. I'll see if I can find it. Easier than I thought....
  6. We have 2 PX30i's, and a YBM-8T now!
  7. I'd rather not. They haven't necessarily done us wrong, so I don't want to put them on blast.
  8. Am I wrong in thinking that you don't get the same sort of training from video courses, as you would from an actual instructor, who has used Mastercam in the real world? Since you brought up videos, I never see StreamingTeacher mentioned. But it seemed to be one of the more "human" of the video training sites. Are they not viewed as a very good training tool?
  9. I don't want to name any names, but I was curious on what the next step is, if you have employees that could use Mastercam training, but your reseller isn't up to the task? Are there private companies that offer training? We'd like to get some training that is geared towards the work that we do, rather than just an off-the-shelf curriculum. We've gone to a few reseller training events, and it wasn't very impressive.
  10. Thank you for the great explanation. Sometimes, in a hurry, I'll fix the problem without knowing why it fixed it. This was a big help, and I also learned to use NCI whenever possible. I should have also noted when I first replied that the suggest from @#Rekd™ fixed it. I left that out of my first reply. Unrelated, but @byte, whats up with the cube down there by your gnomon? I've never seen that.
  11. Clicking Yes gave me weird results. After I clicked Yes 10 times, it said toolpath regen failed, then gave me correct toolpath. Was the failure because of the type of geometry used to drive the toolpath?
  12. I've used a bunch of transforms in a part I'm currently working on. All worked fine, except one model chamfer toolpath, I get this message. I can upload a file if necessary, but it's a pretty large file.
  13. Why would you want to disable it? Genuine question. I can't think of a situation where I wouldn't want my toolpath to regen.
  14. Can someone explain some of the differences with IHS's new IKE posts? I understand some of the things. Integrated setup sheets, mach sim, etc. But, what is meant by "kinematic awareness"? I've heard the time, but I don't really know what that means. Will your cam files be set up differently, in regards to planes? Will there be a generic post, like MPMaster, or will each post need to be machine specific?
  15. I thought about this, and you could be right. Visually, it looks to be more thant .01" from the shoulder, but maybe not. My next step was to adjust the angle a bit, but I'm in a hurry to get this part running, so for now, this solution works. When there's more time, I'll draw it up and try a few different methods. I always try to followup, that way if someone has the same problem down the road, maybe a simple internet search will fix the problem without having to post.
  16. This worked. Thank you! I only had to add .020", but it did the trick.
  17. I wish I could share this one, but I can't. I'll make and share a file later with a similar condition though.
  18. I'm trying to do some deburring with a lollipop mill. But for some reason it doesn't seem to be recognizing the cutting edge past 180deg. Is there something special I need to do for it to recognize the full tool?
  19. From the few different models I've seen, it looks like they're all made at the same place. Big Daisowa, Redline Tools, and Haas fans all look identical, side by side.
  20. If you liked this one, you should try the flip out style. MUCH more force.
  21. Our Yasda came with one of these, and we found that it really doesn't move much air at all compared to the folding fans.
