Newer Haas controls do this I don't know if it is an option or standard. You can have the control slow the feed rate at x% or just alarm out at said%

Thanks guys for all the advice, to all
Nothing seems to help. File was created by me in MC
and is almost all splined coons patches. File size is 63.8 Mb huge for the drawings I am used to. Guess I'll work with it as is Can't wait til I add toolpaths might take a week for file get. Maybe I'll load file at 5:00 then at 8:00 next day it'll be ready.
Thanks again for all the help
Karl
Thanks for the replies,
I did a analyse - check model with the default setting of .005. message box says
0 of 50 are trimmed
20 internal sharp corners found ????
Does this mean the surfaces are bad?
If so how do I fix them?
The shading settings are still at the default of .002
I just learned not to save the file while shaded!!
file get takes 20 - 30 min.
Size of the model is approx 20" diameter.
Any other suggestions, Other then upgrade to 9 then X.
Karl
Hi All,
How do I speed up surface shading? It took twenty five minutes to shade a drawing containing about 35 surfaces. The computer here is running XP-home @ 2.0Ghz and 512 mag ram. Video card is an NVidia GForce Ti 4200. I know that I need to upgrade to at least 9.1 but only have 8.? (newest supported)
Thanks
Karl
Hi CamGuy,
The fillet is mathmaticy (sp?) correct but looks pinched in center. I have to work to cosmetics only here (needs to look good ).
Thanks for the help
Karl
edit: many thanks also bernie
but same cosmetics is the only thing important here.
Hi Bernie,
I am mirroring the spoke about a line at 126 degrees to create a fully concave spoke section.
Thanks for the analize tip I didn't know about
that
karl
Thanks for the help Bernie.
When you say the surface checked bad, What does that mean?
After mirroring the new surface the fillet looks pinched in the center. I'll keep hammering at this.
Any tips would help at this point.
I'll keep learning by doing but the deadline is approching fast
Karl
Hi All,
I placed a file in the MC8 folder named surface fillet. I cannot seem to get this to work out properly. The red surface does not appear to be tangent. If the spoke surfaces are mirrored it (the fillet) looks bad. Any one have a few to look at this and show me how to do it right?

Hi all,
I put a MC8 file on the FTP in the mcam8 folder. It is called mystery_path.mc8 Can someone look at it and tell me what setting I have incorrect. The first roughing pass moves about .05 in z- after the pass. All other passes including the finish pass are ok. I need to get rid of this, the chuck is there!
Thanks
Karl
Machine DOB is 1999.
Motor does not do anything extraordinary(sp) just alarm out.
Haas repairman changed mocon board no change / Also took power supply for working machine / changed drive amplifier. I filled the counterbalance myself less than 6 months ago.
What would show us if the drive is out of phase?
Haas replaced motor/encoder first time, Then problem returned I replaced motor/encoder. Now problem returns again.
Thanks for the ideas
Any one else?
Karl
Hey all hass users. We just had to change our third
z axis drive moter/encoder assembly in 1 yr. Any body else have this problem. Or know of a place that can replace/repair the encoder end? $1145 for the entire part from haas. Machine cuts alum all day. I have been told that the brushless moters are very reliable.
Karl beyond belief
Hi All,
Since this forum is such a wealth of info. I figured someone out there knows. How do I enter DEBUG MODE on the haas control. I used to know but for the life of me I can't remember.
Thanks and have a great (non working) weekend
Karl
It is just a few miles south of the interstate on the East side of the road. It is actually at the entrance to a rock quarry. (Schildberg, I think) It is probably 5 miles south of I-80, maybe a little more. The address is actually Greenfield, IA. Hope that helps.

a friend of mine found this on the 'net.
It is a great tribute to those who gave for us all.
This is located on highway 25 in Iowa
It used to be the kids' grafitti rock. Since it has been painted like this it has been left alone.Be sure to scroll down to see all sides.
Awesome Art Work

Thanks Greg,
Your reply pointed the way. File name can be longer then 8 but can not contain spaces. Every file that is posted in a directory with a space in the name comes up in cimco edit. Files in directories without spaces come up in mcedit.
How did we ever live in an 8.3 world???
