  1. Anyone experiencing glitches using IE-7 Release Candidate with MCX MR2? I installed IE-7 a few weeks ago and I’m getting missing data in the program. I’ve experienced missing toolpaths and z moves (mostly from pocketing). Everything looks fine in backplot and verify but when I post the code I’m missing data. I haven’t had any problems up until a few weeks ago and the only thing I could think was changed was the installation of IE-7.
  2. All my ops come up dirty also. It doesn’t make a difference if it’s a simple square in wire or a complex 3d in mill. It’s been that way since I started using X
  3. When I use Ordinate Dim in MR2 it changes the text orientation to aligned but it leaves it that way after I switch back to regular dimensioning. In MR1 I could create an Ordinate dim and when I went back to regular dimensioning it would revert back to unidirectional. Is this something that has changed in MR2 or is there a default button I’m missing? It’s just a little nuisance that I have to change every time I use ordinate dimensioning.
  4. quote: Our old Sodick will do taper with verry little manual edit(Thanks to the great Post). Forget about 4 axis on this machine. 4 axis on Sodick can be done with a mill post if you have a TX-21 or newer (not sure about earlier ones) Sodick can read a bottom and top path with a ":" between the 2 codes. 5. From the Precision Concepts site quote: This Web Site is temporarily being re-organized. Due to changes in the CNC Industry and the reduced demand of Serial communications software Precision Concepts is currently re-organizing. For the time being there will be no telephone technical support. All technical support will be handled via E-mail Not sure whats going to happen with these guys. This was the site I mentioned in my previous post. Thanks Kannon for the info...
  6. I’ll take a look at it Chris…Thanks! One site basically said serial communications is on the way out and they were reorganizing. I understand that with the last 2 machines we purchased have Ethernet capabilities but our old machines still have plenty of life in them. And with things being tight we can’t afford to update all our machines right now…although I wish we could How do you quote a post?
  7. Thanks guys. I’ve been checking into some programs that run under $200 but they won’t support the Mazak conversational. I guess there’s something that’s real tricky with the format or something. We have a separate computer near the mills that the guys use for storing programs and viewing the MC files for info so I can’t use anything that requires the full version of X
  8. Does anyone know of a cheap and easy comm program for send/receive that will work with Mazatrol conversational (binary)? We are using an old Grecco box for the Mazak and MC draft for the Kitamura and Hass. We upgraded to MC LT and it doesn’t have the communications in it so we want to switch over to one does all before the ole Grecco craps out. Thanks all
  9. On our old CNC100 I manualy edit mine but moving the second block above the first (note "N" numbers) and add the G43,G44,G40. I also have to edit the "D" values, never did get it working completly. I always use 2 lines and arc because the post would split the second move if it was an arc on all the trims. I still use V7 for channing trim paths because we need to go into a different corner on every cut and it's hard to do in later versions. %N001T01D01P01G43 N003G01X+000498G44 N004G01Y-000100G40 N005G03X+000100Y+000100J+000100G44 . . . This works for us because we usualy only run one product on old Bessy but she is still accurate as the day we got her!
  10. Sometimes when I save a file I get a interactive prompt that says "Finding intersections...Finding intersections...Finding intersections..." The problem is it won't go away! If I go to dimension something it behaves normal but when i'm done it comes back to finding intersections. The only way to get rid of it is to exit MC. Anyone else see this?
  11. I've been using one file all along but it's a problem going to X. I can't open a file in X that has both Wire & Mill toolpaths created on V9...It crashes! I'm told they are working on it.
  12. Roger, File sent. I also asked that the crash report be forwarded to you also. It seem to only happen when I open a file that has both a mill and wire toolpath in it. Thanks.
  13. When I try to open a V9 file that has wire tool paths in it crashes X. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm running SP1 (10.0.14.19)
  14. kkominiarek...I have the same problem (intermently) of an entitie not highlighting when I'm in Smart Dimension. I can still get endpoints, midpoints, ect. but can't get the highlight to dim a line or move a dimension. I usualy get it back if I shutdown X and restart it. BTY Make sure you auto highlight is on, (Screen menu) [ 10-07-2005, 04:32 PM: Message edited by: JBowman ]
  15. I received word from my dealer that it was missed in the transition. I hope they put it in on the next MR or SP because I use this feature alot!
  16. Andy...The angle V9 asks for is for the "relative" leg of the dimension. You don't need to know the angle of your dimenson, just where you want it from. Normally at 0° or 90°
  17. Chip - Didn't need to draw a "extra" line in V9...I used the Relative option.
  18. Hey guys, How do you dimension an angled line relative to a point at an angle? X wants a non-parallel line after selecting the line. The key “R” for relative after selecting the line doesn’t work for me in X. V9- Create-Dimension-Angular-Select line-Relative-Select point-type in angle-done! Thanks much!
  19. Thanks guys! I'm back in black and printing fine!
  20. Cimtech...Same happens on my local printer Steve...Prints ok when I change the background color, Thanks! But...I'm a creature of habbit and I gota have my black background and color 255 doesn't quite cut it, Looks like having the brightness turned up on the monitor.
  21. I dont get black background anymore but now I get dimensions and text but no lines?
  22. I've tried a bunch of combinations with the print page setup, config, and printers but I still get black background with white lines. I'll have to wait till a fix is found before I can start using X.
