I disabled Optimus but the Verify is still runnig slow...My VPN throught the neigbors router is faster than Verify (wife canceled services cause were moving next week)!!! I also disabled Hyperthreading because the processor percentage was only at 13%.
Just spent an hour with dell online chat and remote and they say there isnt 2 cards...Funny how the Device manager shows 2 cards???? They disabled the Intel from the device manager and my screen went black, they rebooted and tried to insatll Nvidia drivers but it wouldnt install without the intel running. Ended reinstalling the intel drivers then Quadro driver to get me back to where I was. Now I gota find a driver that works well with Mastercam.
I was problems with Verify crashing and found out that the driver version 296.70 was causing mastercam memory to ramp up to over 3GB in less than a min then it would crash (HP Z400 with a Quadro 2000). Updated the driver to 296.88 and it works fine now.
I just got a new laptop M6600 with a 3000M and tried the 296.88 driver and it caused a bunch of flickering when placing dimensions or circles. Anyone using a 3000M and find a good driver?
I was working with my reseller with MC crashing on Verify I noticed the mem would go from under 2GB to 4.5gb+ on a simple 1 min verify. He suggested the video driver so I installed the new Quadro driver (296.88) and now I can get through a Verify. The previous Quadro driver (296.70) apparently has something that Mastercam doesn’t like. What really sucks is I usually test after updating but I missed this one. :wallbash:
If your using the simple tool list ”-Tool List (MILL-SIMPLE).rpx” you have to either change an existing data field or add another one then adjust the boxes so they all fit. Then you have to go into “Tool List (MILL-SIMPLE).rpx” and change the headers to match. The attached pic shows the DataField of a TextBox where to change or add “CODE”
I put the Quadro back in the case because I couldn't stand the flickering from solid surfaces from the GeForce drivers. There wasnt enough gain from the Quadro 2000 to the GTX 560Ti to put up with it.
I was tired of waiting for Verify so I replaced my Quadro 2000 with a GTX 560Ti and barley gained 5%! In my case the CPU is the bottleneck with Verify. Verify uses only 1 core and my W3550 has one core maxed with either card. I ran times several different ways and the best score I got was setting Mastercam's priority to realtime and that put the time from 20-22 min to about 17 on both cards. I’m hopeful that X6 will help…if not then I’ll try to convince the boss to get me a 2600K.
WOW! I just read this and tried it on X5 and this flaw is a serious issue with the way we use Mastercam! Any dimension I add txt to does not update if I move the geometry its tied to.
I get the same thing. I can see the X4 thumbnails but not X5. My reseller told me its a known bug and has been logged in defect CNC00087050. Maybe it will be fixed in MU1?
I'll give that a try. Id print them out but some of our milled trodes have quite a few operations and we would be going through alot of paper. I'll play around with the colors and see what works best.
Thanks again!
Can anybody point me to the post that explains how to change the background in the X5 Mill setup sheet to black? I'm not haveing any luck finding it with search.
Thanks!
