  1. Oops I didn't read the thread when i got in and already redid my config file. Another dumb thing not reading the thread here before doing dsomething. Johns way would have been waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier. Thanks John! and thanks for the help guys
  2. I was bored and looking at the chooks. I came across the V7colors.dll and thinking it'd be like other chook with a dialog box clicked on it to see what it'd do. Well I looked it up after the fact. Dump chook to click on. I guess it did what it says it will, turned my colors back to the V7 palette and ugh. So now that I did a real dumb thing, how I can I turn it back to the X6 palette?
  3. Yep! that D@#$ program just won't work!!! Great way to get out off something wrong isn't it, just get another program and eveything is fixed...or is it. There's an old adage that goes something like this "it's a poor workman who blames his tools" Get him some trianing
  4. How about when you set your planes, you save it as a viewsheet, then you just click on it and your in your saved view. One click!
  5. I for got to mention that I did do that install, X6 to MRU2 twice and still got that crash message. So now I am running X6 MR1. What do you mean my .net is bad. Do you mean .net Utitlies or microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
  6. I’ve installed MU2 about 4 times now. Each time I remove every trace of X6 I can find, even ran a utility I got form the local Mastercam rep to remove X6. Everything works fine up through the installed MU1 but when I install MU2 and start X6 I get this--- Has anybody had this problem and gotten it to work?
  7. no I can't I don't know the ip. It's showing up as a drive but not a shared folder as you can see in the attached pic. Not sure how to find the ip of the cnc
  8. Well I did that and I'm not seeing what I need to in order to connect to the cnc. I tried remapping the drive to get a shred folder but it comes up the same 'windows cannot access \\cnc\quintax' I have shared folders on old XP computer to \\cnc\quintax but can't from win 7 any ideas?
  9. Are you saying to do this when installing Windows 7 from the disk, or can it be done with windows 7 installed? Plus you given me some hope this will work. BIG Thanks in advance
  10. We use a either net cable connected to out network and right into the machine, we can see the files on our computer and drop and drag to transfer files form computer to machine. Only problem we've run into now is with Windows 7. Windows7 does not support the netbeui protocol so now I have my old xp computer sitting next to the new Win 7 and transfer from 7 to xp to machine. Does take much longer but it is a hassle. We've tried setting up a virual computer on the win 7 but having been able to make it work, so until we do I'm stuck with the three way transfer.
  11. Good points guys, I'm going to dig deeper and find out what he's thinking about for this machine.
  12. Boss is looking at a 1994 Cincinnati Sabre 750 3 Axis CNC Vertical Machining Center, I've only limited experience with cutting metal, I did some aluminum programing and cutting some years ago. I could get back up to speed, on aluminum fairly fast -I think My question is what do you think of this machine?
  13. go to system Configuration>start/exit>and in the middle you'll see 'startup product' click the drop down menu and select mill save and you should be good to go
  14. THANK YOU Roger! that's great and what an easy install, you made it simple and quick. I be toggling levels on and off- sooooo cool
  15. Thanks, that was easy, wonder why a search doesn't show bring that up?
  16. In X6 MU1 I get this message everytime I use a high speed tool path. My question is is there some where to 'enable' this feature? I've looked but not found anything, maybe not looking in the right area. Or do I just check 'Do not show this warning again this session'
  17. Roger created this for X5 and I use it constantly to turn set levels on and off for viewing. I have it key mapped to ( my preference) alt-v . I hit alt-v and surfaces and any other entities on the level set are off. Hit alt-v again their on. For me it's great. I look at containment boarders wire frame or what ever.
  18. Oh not that levels sets the one that I'm looking for is a c-hook that turns on and off levels by icon or key mapping. It was made by Rodger Martin as a Levelvisibilty add on, level visibilty
  19. Was there a level sets for x6? I can find it for x5 but not six
  20. Oh and we have a F@gor controller and I've just sent them a request to see if they have a work around.
  21. Steve thanks, no we have a Quintax 5 axis router not a Hass. We tried what the link had but still not working
  22. Now with windows 7 we can no longer communicate with our machine for file transfer. In XP it was a simple process using the netbeui protocol and mapping the net to the machine we could easily transfer cut files directly to the machine. Now, Windows 7 does not support netbeui. So, to get around this we have two computers, a new one with Windows 7 and another with XP. The XP machine can communicate with the CNC and with 7. So I drag a file from 7 to XP and then to the CNC. Works OK except I have to have another computer here. We tried running XP in 7 with a virtual machine but haven’t been able to get it working yet. I guess we’ll keep trying but I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a way to make it work.
  23. Found it, thanks guys. I changed the color and moved to to another level. closed all the levels and fit the screen to that 'bad' surface. Deleted it and all is well! thanks again
  24. Thanks guys I'll try that Are you Canadian? All most-raised in Minnesota and still live with in 200 miles of them eh!
