I’ve been using blend for a loot of my toolpaths but now I’m getting a dialog box with this error message after I select surfaces and blend lines.
What to change color of last processed surface?
If I check ‘Yes’
I get – the Colors dialog box, pick a color and click green check
Then I get –‘Do you wish to keep this operation?’
I can’t find any color change and don’t know what I should look for.
I’ve also rebooted and still get the same thing.
So what is wrong and what do I look for?
I agrre with closeting Mastercam to fix some problems. Every once in a while i can't select any geometry when starting a tool path. So I save- close and reopen Mastercam.
Thanks John, got x6 installed with the help of your instructions, but the Check YES box got me again. I have the hardest time finding that sucker. Finally popped up when I closed the window. In the past it was behind the window and I can't remember where else it's been but I know it's never "BY CLICKING THE BUTTON MARKED "YES" BELOW
Thanks again
Maybe a bit more set up but how about trying 'blend' to finish the radius's. I use it a lot because I don't like the tool paths I get with pencil or left over.
I'm cutting some MDF panels using depth cuts and seeing this weird start (see picture) on some of the panels. The first cut on the right is starting at the bottom and ramping up to the first depth cut instead of starting at that depth. It seems to be related to the tabbing, if i turn off tabbing i get the standard depth cut but no tabs. I've tried different combinations of tabs and still get the same results. I used this same tool path a day ago and didn't see any of this happening and I went back to check and the earlier tool paths with depth cuts were fine. Anyone else ever see this.
Just saw this post, I'm using System Mechanic Professional, haven't had any problems with it. In the past I've also used AVG free version, like Jeff, and no problem
Pip,
Thanks that worked......YIPPEEEEEEEEEE......... I never thought about changing the config file manually before, another trick I've learned.
Again thanks for that tip
That's not what I'm looking for, or, I don't understand everything your saying there.
What I want is to go file >open>and go to a fold I choose and not mcamx5. Like I said it hold for the currant secession but not after I close and reopen.
I've had no problem directing the data path in X4, X3 and so on. but now X5 being a 64 bit or 64 bit compliant it doesn't work.
Does it work for anyone else? or is it just me?
I can not get my data paths to stick in X5. I've never had this problem before in any of the other X's.
I like to set my .MCX file open location to my own job's file. When I go Settings>Configuration>Files and select the Data path it only sticks for that session.
I've searched the forum with no luck so I'm not sure what's going on.
Any ideas?
I's a new computer with

I'd send it back to them with pictures detailing how bad the surfaces are. That's very sloppy work. Even if you do redraw it are you going to get compensated for the time
and who signs off on the new drawing. Lots of things to consider here. JM2C
Not sure what your trying to do, but you can make a spline by picking the 1st then the 2nd point and finally the last.using Create>Spline> Automatic Spline
Bruce try creating curves on your original surfaces. Then untrim these surfaces, now you can extend the surfaces or just trim them if it gives you enough. Also you may need to be in the right view to trim, ie. you will want to be in a view that is looking directly at the surfaces to be trim. I would also suggest copying the surface to another layer doing your trimming and then bring the trimmed surfaces back to your preferred or original layer. Or i see you have solid works, take them into that and trim. Hope this helps.
I have windows home premium and I'm trying to run Mastercam on it. I'm having all sorts of problems like crashing when saving and the like. Is there a big difference when running windows 7 professional verses windows 7 home and what are they. I may need to make a point to get 7 professional.
