Thanks Rodger, I think this is one of the hidden gems in Mastercam that many probably didn't know was available. I use it all the time turning levels of surface's (or what ever) off and on as I'm working. Thanks again

I get the same thing with the level manager scrolling to the top. It's a pain having to scroll down every time, and I agree with jlw it messes with the flow.

LOL, that's for sure, i looked and looked through the Mastercam downloads and couldn't find anything. I click on subject after subject and still could find nothing. Hopefully it's show up.

I was wondering about that too. I tried MCCommandfinder but nothing. Looked int he Levels Manager- nothing. I'm bummed, I used this C-hook daily for my work.

Yes I have, they're not the same and not as easy as a quick hot key, in my opinion.

After installing 2017 I'm looking for the add-ons I like using and can't find Level Sets Visibility_CHook. Anyone know if it's been updated for 2017

I can't figure out what's causing this. I want to rough out a pocket around this, i don't need to cut out the entire center. I'm using a surface in the center to keep things in the pocket and absolute deaths and left the center surface a little high so it won't cut that area. surface rough.mcx-9

I got that book sometime ago. Lots of good info in there.Only problem I have is the CD that came with it was warped and won't read, so i haven't seen whats on it.

Thanks Colin, I'll check that out. As to the need to unwind, i want the second pass to start the as the first one so i don't have unwinds in different places. I set up the tool path so it could start and run the entire path back to the start without unwinding. Right now I did it in 2 operations.

CURVE 5 AXIS.jpg]I'm using curve 5 axis to go around a part with a constant 14 degree angle. I start it out at B24 C0 (router configuration) so i end at B14 C360. Our router only rotate 367 degrees before having to rewind. I'm trying to do it in two passes, everything is fine until it reaches my start/end point it continues with the next cut at C360 until it reaches the arch part and it's limit then it pick up and rotates the C back. How can I get it to retract at my start/end point so my second pass starts at B14 C0?

I use Level manager a lot. I especially like the new LevelSetsVisibility - .zip file manager. I have it hot keyed so i can toggle selected levels on and off while adding geometry or just want surfaces off when making tool paths

I'm installing X8 and the custom buttons I set up on the right mouse click button didn't come in. They always did on the previous X versions. How do i bring them in from X7 hope fully with out redoing them.

Yep I see what you did. It makes sense now that I'm looking at it. I went back and opened all the dips with a slightly larger radius so the dips won't turn in on themselves. Funny, how after seeing that, it all makes perfect sense now. I kick my self for not catching that, i'll watch that in the future. Thank you very very much for your help.

CURVE 5AXIS TT.MCX-7 I am using only lines to drive this. I liked your idea of getting rid of any unneeded vector lines so i eliminated all control axis vectors that weren't needed but I still get the little hat sections on the sides. I've tried filters and everything else i can find in the settings, nothing seems to eliminate the hat sections. Attached is a file if anyone would care to look at it.

I tried that, made one side continuous and the other broken up, as it was created, does the same thing on both sides.

I’m following a curve in Curve 5 axis and the tool is supposed to stay on one side of the line but when I post and cut the tool jumps across the line- up and then back on the line. This happens at 4 dips in the curve. The attached pics show an overall view then a close up of the motion the cutter is making. Any ideas what could be causing this?
