Suddenly getting this error with a new computer.  The computer is supposedly a more powerful one, because I was having Solidworks issues.  But now I'm getting this issue in Mastercam.  Any idea?

fyi, it's an Nvidia Quadro T1000

*edit* - updating drivers now, we'll see if that does it.

That is a pretty basic card and I doubt it conforms to Open CL 1.2 which is why you are getting the warning

The card will still run Mastercam, it just would use your video card to help crunch some toolpaths

Nice, I was told it was a pretty stout card.   🙄

Problem

How to tell what version of OpenCL is on a Windows system.

Solution

  • Click the Start button in Windows.
  • Type Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters in the tree control, and right-click on the NVIDIA or AMD/ATI graphics card.
  • Right-click on the graphics card and select Properties.
  • Select the Driver tab.
  • Click the Driver Details button.
  • Look for OpenCl.dll or OpenCL64.dll and look at the file version. It must be version 1.2 or later to support OpenCL double precision.

If your graphics driver is not at this version, or if the OpenCL dlls are missing altogether, try updating your graphics driver.

If OpenCL appears to be version 1.2 or later and it is still not working with Mastercam, please see the KB article on OpenCL troubleshooting.

Hello! I think this may be a related issue but I am unable to find the problem. Whenever I try to verify my selected operations, I get an error message that states "OpenGL paint error! If this problem occurs frequently, update your graphics card driver." It defnitely says Open G L, not Open C L, but I can't find any forums on this specific error message.

I have checked my graphics driver and it is up-to-date, and I followed the steps above to check the version and it is 3.0.0.0. My graphics card also is compatible with OpenCL and OpenGL. Any suggestions on how I might resolve this issue?
