Solid Centerlines ?

I need a quick way to put centerline on a solids hole? What I am hoping to do is to quickly consturct a toolplane bases on this centerline.

 

Reason? Holes that are not on 90 deg angles but they are drilled in ever changing surfaces. Some of these are compond angles. I found a work around for the current project but I need a better way for the future.

Soild Drill does not work for you in this application? I do it the old fasioned way I create a curve from soild on a seperate layer I then create a 3 point circle from the curves inside and outside the hole. I then draw a 3d line from center to center and then to the quadarant and go from there sucks but I have found this gives me the best results for creating toolplanes and such I also name the level the Cplane to keep track of what is going on.

you can also set your t/plane and c/plane normal to a line. you may have to construct the line along the center or edge of the hole first

Is there a c-hook that will do the dame thing, but with angles? For example, drill at 15 degrees.

Code_Breaker, check out the Holeaxis zip file in the chook folder on the ftp. It may be what Roger's refering to.

Sorry guys, holeaxis.dll is a free chook but it is not installed off the install cd. The chook will create a point and a line running through the center of the cylinder, regardless of the cylinder orientation. I beleive you can download it off emastercam.com and off of cadcam's ftp site.
