Dongle not recognized thru USB-C adaptor

Has anyone had their dongle not recognized thru USB-C adaptor? I have 2 laptops, the new one only has USB-C ( I didn't order it ) and have to use a USB-C adaptor, and my memory sticks work, but not MCAM dongle .

I tried the same USB-C adaptor on my old laptop the USB-C adapter and the MCAN dongle works fine, but not on my new laptop. I'm guessing it is a power issue, but have not found a solution online. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you try updating the HASP drivers?

I did try, but since the PC will not recognize the dongle it wont install the drivers.

Install the drivers without the dongle attached to the laptop

You can switch to a Software License and not worry about the HASP anymore.

Out of curiosity I just tried plugging my Mastercam HASP into my USB-C with my adapter and It worked as normal. I expected that result. I'd remove the HASP, uninstall the HASP driver, reinstall the HASP driver making sure I select HASP [u]NOT[/u] NetHASP, do the reboot dance and see if that solves it.
