Dumb question regarding Mastercam icons in the taskbar

Yes. Right-click -> Properties -> Taskbar buttons -> Always combine, hide labels.

I do have it checked. It works for the 2021 icon, but not the 2022 icon.

Same behavior with 2023 and I'm running Win10.

Yes, both are pinned to the taskbar.

Yes, it's Windows 7.

At the moment, with 2023 pinned to the taskbar, my behavior is as follows:

Open a session of MC and I get the duplicate icon in the taskbar.

Open another session of MC and it gets grouped with the duplicate icon.

Open more sessions of MC and they all get grouped with the duplicate icon.
