I don't know if this question has been asked or not. but has anyone had problems getting mastercam to run with xp professional?

I loaded it , started to run it , when it got to the grafix screen mastercam just shut down.

I'm using a compaq amd 2.4g with 612 ram

and nvidia gforce grafix card. mastercam ran fine on this system under windows 2000 pro

please help I've got a ton of work and need to take it hame to complete it so I need to get this resolved as quickly as possible

I've been running XP Pro and Mastercam for about 3 months and haven't had any issues. I would guess it's more of a hardware problem.

Have you updated the Hasp driver ?

If no ,get it here

 

Do you installed Mastercam as administrator ?

I don't understand why mastercam would run on 2000 and not xp

Did you upgrade the W2K to XP or did you do a fresh, full install of XP? You would be much better off with a fresh install. Updating leaves old version files mixed in with XP.

 

Also what GeForce card do you have? Did you put in and update the XP drivers for that card. While trying to upgrade, you should probably upgrade the card. Maybe a GeForce FX5700 or Quadro FX500.

You must update your Hasp driver.

Driver for 2000 not compatible for XP.

If you installed not as administrator install may not manage to update registries.

Find the file Mastercam.err error log and show us it`s contents .

Try changing compatability mode to Win2000 and see what happens.

I downloaded the hasp update program I'll try it as soon as I get home and you I am the admin on my computer. When I run the hasp update will it still run on win 2000 that's the OS on my system at work? I have to use the hasp on both computers

Iskander is right, you need to make sure that you have FULL admin permision to that computer, if not, get your IT dude to log you in as admin for the install. The Hasp .exe is also different. That must be updated as well.

First of all installing the XP have you upgraded [

patched your OS ) for your motherboard (a driver from m/b installation disk )

If not ,Your AGP controller may work not properly.

And deinstall/install once more after that your graphic card driver .

After that do what I told you before

It would do nothing ,it is relied to virtual machine ,not to the hardware overlay (drivers )

It was a fresh install I got a bug viras in my computer and had to reformat the drives

you only have to update te hasp drivers if you are 1)using MC-V8

2) IF YOU are updating to maintenance.

What resolution and colors do you have now ,and what driver XP installed for graphic card ?

iskander: I tried all types of different settings on my grafix card. I don't know what drivers are installed for my mother board or grafix. I had xp home on the computer originally but changed it to 2000 pro because of problems with advertisements loaded on the computer when I bought it. I reciently insalled xp pro after I caught a virus

I havent upgraded any drivers only windows patches and upgrades (I am not a computer wiz as you can probibly tell)
