Using C axis rotary 5x mazak

Ive been banging my head against the wall on this part. fairly simple mill off normally done in a 4x rotary on a mill. I decided to see how these would run on our 5x mazak. it is an older machine so some 5x toolpaths do not work correctly. when i tried using the same axis sub on this but it didnt seem correct at all . i tried 5x curve but the floor doesnt seem to clean up correctly with a finish 2x contour. not to mention my post doesnt have time continuous on the c axis. 

 

there has to be a simpler or better way to go about doing this. any suggestions?

If you go to Machine - Machine Definition, in the bottom right window expand spindle group - Pic 1 (probably left as that is normally the main spindle)

Right click on Lathe Spindle C Axis - Properties, bottom right there are options for continuous positioning - Pic2

Try adding a 4 Axis only Axis combination to the MMD and then change that operation to use that axis combination. Also need to set the operation up to only output in a 4 axis.

im not sure i know how to add it to the MMD is this under the control definition?

No one ever showed me how to do all of this. You learn by trying and seeing what you can figure out. However just changing the operation to be only 4 Axis worked so the MMD change is not needed. Think about why that CUSP is left? What did you do with the toolpath to make it leave the CUSP?
