Man I would have been livid. Let me say I commend you on your demenor when you realized what had happend. I have a 98 Honda Valkyre and if I caught the shop doing this I would have probably took out some displays "accidentally" on my way out.

Keep us informed on what happens. Hopefully the owner will come to his sense and atleast offer you a warranty on the drive train.

This did not happen to me but a guy who posts on one of the bike forums I troll, even so it does make you think when you drop off your bike for servicing.

A guy took his bike to a shop in Wa for an oil change and a back tire. He picked up his bike, asked for the old tire, and found it in on the ground with melted rubber all over it. Also rubber on his swing arm, fender etc, and a big black burn-out mark on the parking lot.

 

They did a burnout with his bike!

 

He confronted them about it, they laughed and said 'so sorry, SOP sucker'

 

Now pretty much the entire riding community knows about it and will not do business there. I first saw it on a jeep forum I troll, then later saw it on a couple of bike forums, then finally here. It's getting around.
