  1. I Dont think you can alter the position of the two you mention. You have to drag them after they are opened. George.
  2. Set the boxes where you prefer them. right click in tool bar go to tool bar states, type a name in the new toolbar box and save, check the box to make default and they will always open in this position.
  3. Many thanks to both. Now bought it ! Gone for 32 gig. Using Qaudro 2000 at moment seems to be pretty good. Hear what you are saying Mic, but have to keep to some sort of budget ! George.
  4. I am looking at a Dell T7600 ( Xeon E5-2620 (6 core 2.00 GHz 15mb cache )). Going to go 64 bit. Dont know or care too much about what really makes them work. So can someone who does advise if a wise choice or not. Only upgrade is to Nvidia 2000. Many thanks. George.
  5. Greg. The surface normal can be thought of as a vector that points away from the surface at a 90 degree angle all round. The direction of the normal can be and often is, different for every position on the surface The normal is used for certain creation, manipulation and machining operations. While the normal is not continuously displayed, whenn shading is not active the side of the surface the normal points away from is a solid colour. The other side appears dull grey. The direction can be flipped using the Modify, Normal function. Copied from Mastercam Handbook. George.
  6. Hi Dave Yes you got it there, just change the 1 to a 0 and it will post old style code as you require. The other thing is the thread chamfer and angle are set on the control with setting 95/96 on the machine.use M23/24 to turn it on or off. it is modal so you only need to insert a M23 into the code line once and it will stay on. The Q will only post out if you are using multi start threads. I am sure that Trevor can sort it out for you.(He's my best mate now that I have managed to insult him!) But it wont hurt to try and understand how to do it as you can bet, sometime down the line you will need to do it all again ! George
  7. Sorry Trevor ! Did not intend it to come across like that I really should have said offering a better discription. Understand fully what you are sayinging ,I was just offering a quick fix to get Dav eup and running. George.
  8. I need to say this a bit slower maybe. Machine axis switches Threading type old or new. new type will post- G76 P----- Q---- R---- G76 X-- Z-- P-- Q-- R-- F-- Old type will post- G76 X-- Z-- I-- K-- D-- A-- F-- Geo
  9. Think your using new style G76 threading. Need to change switch to old 6T style for Haas. Should output just one line then. George.
  10. Nvidia Quadro 2000. 2 weeks ago, used install CD for coffee cup, and downloaded latest drivers. Very pleased. No issues. X
  11. Same colour as bacground ?
  12. Mouse settings - show pointer trails ?
  13. Yes your quite correct. Try drawing sharp corners then have a play with the settings and you will see that you can chamfer of fillet corners, however in the same finish path you can only do one or the other. Geo
  14. If you have use canned drill cycles checked in your machine dif, they have to be configed in the post. If you uncheck them.drill cycles will post long code. Therefore if you have use canned cycles and they are not configed in post it will post out custom drill cycle just as you are getting. At least I think thats right.
  15. Seat belts tightened, canopy back, ready to be shot down... Cant do it in X4 ? Mastercam is only another tool.Use it to do what you want,if it cant do what you want,Post out what it can do and change the code, its only 2axis lathe stuff. If you cant code a plunge and a feed should you be involved with cutting metal? A lot cheaper than 2/3 years maintenance.and more satisfying.Time to pull the ejector seat. Be sure im not getting at anyone, just we seem to forget the basics and come to rely too much on software.
