boolean problems

Recommended Posts

I have two solids that I am trying to remove one solid from the other. When I tell Mastercam to execute the boolean remove I get this message: "Boolean remove operation falied. Boolean remove operation would result in a disjoint body. Create non-associative boolean?" Can someone tell me what causes this failure? I have gotten this message several other times and just gave up. If I knew what causes this error, I may be able to avoid it in the future. I am afraid I am relativly new to solids and the do's & don'ts. Thanks in advance for everybodies help. bonk.gif

Gibbs,

In solid when you are performing boolean operation there are certain rules to be followed.

When you execute remove operation the bodies should be in such a way that the final output is a single body, which in your case doesn't seem to happen. i.e. the second body is splitting the first in two or more distant parts.

You have to decide which part you want to keep and adjust other body accordingly. HTH
