I am trying to find the weight of a part. How do I adjust the parameters for the correct density? (i.e.: steel, al.) I started with a -primitive -sphere (just to to get basic numbers... Thanks in advance

For doing solids, you click on analyze > area/ volume > solid props and then enter the density factor as the weight. This can be found in the machinery handbook. Steal is .2833, alum is around .094 I think off of the top of my head.

I use Matweb to get material density then plug it into Analyze-Area/Volume/Solid props.

Chip, I suggest drawing a cube rather than a sphere. A 1" cube is 1 cu in. Should be easier to check your conversions.

If you do not have solids you can use Volume.dll c-hook

tips to use it

This old C-hook works nicely in ver9 too.

You mill your model from the inside with tool ball mill 0.01 mm dia toolpath parallel

model phisically upper height z0

in posting stage save nci file

use it for volume c-hook
