You can re-cut any thread,as long as you pick up the lead.

On a cnc it's tricky,but we have done it many times.

Run the program with X offset up about 1/8" or so,see where the lead is.

And just offset Z start point on the + side accordingly to "blend" into the lead.

In other words the thread you will end up cutting will start farther away and end up in the same spot.
