MC X Editor

New editor is nice. I can use my scroll wheel now! Does anyone know if it can (or ever will?) resequence N#'s?

Looks kinda slick, but I couldn't get file compare to work. Must be missin something.

Not sure on the renumber option. I'll check into that.

 

As far as compare goes, make sure you have selected a compare program to use. From the editor select TOOLS/OPTIONS and them click the COMPARE tab and select your compare program. If one doesn't exist, then you can't do a compare. I belive DiffCalc.exe is provided in the C:mcamxcommoneditorsmastercam folder.

 

Now you can select compare from the menu and then select the two files to compare. Now green check. Now when the compare files dialog comes up select the diff lever and then the compare button and you should get a results window opened up displaying the differences.

So Cimco Edit is no longer editor of choice?

It's not on the installation cd.

If you have V9 installed you can point X to that install of Cimco. It is set in the Settings-Configuration-Start/Exit. Then set the editor to Other and browse to mcam9commoneditorsceditcimcoedit.exe

I use the Cimco editor with X and it works great. Do what Steve said.

Ya, Cimco's better than both the others. Does resequence too. Groovy colors!

How do I get rid of line numbers in MCX ?

Every time I open a file it devaults to line numbers on.

Like the bookmarks in there so I'm going to give this editor a shot.

There seems to be a bug with shutting off line numbering, in the meantime you can set the border color to something esle to make the line number stand out from text as shown below, this might help for the time being.
