Convert a Pro-E file

Could somebody convert a Pro-E file to MCX for me. I uploaded 74165.prt to the unspecified_uploads folder.

I'm confused. ProE files show up under file types in file/open. Can't anyone do this? I have never had to try a ProE file.

We bought it when we went to X and a server license. I am very pleased with it. I cannot get it to open an assembly file and I am waiting for an answer from my reseller.

When you use the ProE converter do you get the solid history Tree?

 

We use ProE here I looked at getting the ProE converter but I thought it was a bit pricey.

 

You can't open an Assembly file I'd say because it's a .asm file not .prt

John I just converted an assembly from wildfire. I have not tried wildfire 2 yet. My files are on my local computer.

What advantage do you get using the ProE converter over opening a STEP or X_T file from ProE?

Clean curves. Better quality of surfaces consistently. I haven't proved it but it seems like our makino runs faster off of these surfaces. This maybe wishful thinking, but it makes me feel better. I don't have to take the time to convert the file in pro and save it. Doesn't sound like a lot but at 30 molds a year with trods, cavity, cores, and plates it adds up. HTH

We bought the Pro-e converter when we bought X. Does anyone have the same results that we do?

When the model is split in half so that the tool paths can be laid out, the part has holes in it.

Do you think it might be the converter or the Pro-e model from the customer?

We do not have solids.
