I know there's a way but I can't find it. Using "X" I want to create an arc tangent to 2 entities. I see 1 ent., tangent to point etc, but not 2 ent. Help! I work nights and will not be able to read any replys til tuesday afternoon.

Doug,

 

From the top menu Creat, Arc, Creat Arc Tangent, or from a RMB or a Creat Arc toolbar. Once the ribbon bar opens type "2" or click on the Tangent 2 Entites icon.

 

 

Then, by clicking on the radius or diameter dialog boxes, or typing "r" or "d" you can manipulate the size of the arc to your needs.

Also Create Circle Edge Point works. Toggle the tangent button on, input your rad size, click on the two entities.

Basically you use create a fillet - then

go the multiple trim sissors and close arc

Actualy you can set your trim options before you create a fillet.

After you hit the tanget button (or press "T") you pick the arcs, get close enough only to highlight it not close enough to select any of the points on it.

Lloyd, the picture you posted is great. my tool bar only has the 4 icons on the left, the other 3 are missing. Is there a way to customize the TB?

 

X is brand new for us, we are working our way through little by little.

Hmmm, I didn't customize the ribbon bar (in the screen shot), at least not to my knowledge. I do have the Create Arcs toolbar turned on and docked on the bottom of my screen, which as the Create Arcs Tangent icon in it, but not specifically the tangent to 2 entities.

 

Are you running MR1 SP2?

How recent an update are you talking? We got X running a month ago for the first time.

If you are running X MR1, that is the latest update.

maybe that is the problem, it is not MR1. I will get with our rep and see if we can get the upgrade. In the mean time I have worked through the geometery issues but was just wondering why the ribbon looked different.

If your not on maintenance the latest update might be running as SP2.
