Haas Mill Question

Happy Monday to all! (Yeah right!)

 

Just curious if anybody knows if you can rotate a part on the haas control without using MCX to do the actual rotation?

 

The part I have is in a fixture (casted part). Sometimes the pre-cast holes are a little off from the fixture, so instead of moving the fixture I want to rotate the part something like 1 deg to the right/left to compensate for this. Is this possible short of moving it in MCX?

On a Fanuc, if it is enabled, G68 X Y R, will do it. X & Y being the point of rotation, R the angle. G69 cancels.

G68 will do this.

 

We use our probes to find and adjust this angle automatically.

 

The function does need to be enabled though.

Rotation is an add-on option you have to purchase.

If you can't get it to work its probably not activated in the control.

If you buy Haas control upgrades after the machine has been deleivered, they send you activation codes you enter into the control. It works pretty much the same way you upgrade a Mastercam SIM

I know on the newer machines you can get a 200 hr free trial on the add on options, you just call your dealer and they give you a code.
