Tapping

I have a simple pat that has a crap ton (yes that is a technical term) of holes in it. Some are tapped and I have never used the tapping cycle on MC before. I have the tap set up and have picked all my geometry. My question is when backplotting and/or Verifying the tool shown looks like a dowel and not a tap. Is this correct? Does MC just not clearly define the tool? Also, on verify it dosen't show any threads in the hole and I have the show threads box checked. Is this correct. I just want to make sure this is set up right before I go and ruin a good part.
