Centriod

Anyone have a sample program for a centriod control? A friend of my has had a machine for two years and it only has ten hours on it. I have been asked to help him out with it. I can sit down and read the manuals but you people on here are alway better the manuals. I also need to know if there is any special trick to setting it up? ("x" "y" and "z" and tool lengths.

The control is very easy to set-up tool and work offsets.. Drop me an e-mail and I will see what i can do for you in the morning. We actuall ran code off of our Fadal's to it until I got the post ready. Nothing speacial.

Very straightforward.... Use a Fanuc post with minor changes.

 

You need a semi-colon instead of parentheses (or both as in sample)

 

The 'G4 P1' was to allow the spindle to get up to speed before cutting.

 

I believe the G50 at the end was to cancel mirror image. I can't remember now.

Does he have the Windows or Linux based software. The Linux base has lots of buggies in it. Bit, to program is very easy and with MC you can use a Fanuc based post with a few tweaks as stataed earlier.

There was actually a Centroid M4 post in V9 but it needed some tweaks as well

 

Interested to know what bugs you've seen with linux ...have had it a while now and haven't had much trouble it is kind of quirky to navigate

Hi We are about to switch to X/X2, currently on V9 would anyone have post processors to run the centroid M-400 and M-400s.

If you haveV9 posts, you already have posts. Read the documentation and run them through the update utility.

 

BTW, asking for posts, not a good thing.

It is a C-Hook. Alt-C and then scroll to updatepst utility. Specify Mill, or whatever and the version of post you are updating. Specify where you want it to go and where it currently resides.

im using the v9 centroid post with a few tweks thought i need to post multi,, wcs the book says i need to use the ( E1, E2 ect ) for my g54 g54 ect. i do not know where to put them to send a sample for post editing

I helped out our a friend with both a Centroid 3 and 5 axis machine. The 3 axis was simple all we did was change what Bernie said swithed to semi colons and had to output the tool changes from T1 to M61. I will try to contact him today to see if he is still using it.

 

Now the 5 axis is a whole different story, we were never able to edit a post to get it running nor were we able to find a post to get it running. If I remember they are using UG NX4 to program the 5 axis although he want to ditch that and simply use mastercam.

I didnt have to put the semi colon into mine. I only use the (QQQQQ) and it works fine.

 

The tool change is T10 M6 on the same line. I have a Linux version.

 

I took a standard Fanuc post and tweaked to my liking.
