I knew Hardmill would come along sooner or later and kick some sand on teh Stork. I'm feeling the love in this thread! biggrin.gif

Back to the original topic...

I started using Mastercam Version 4 in the early 1990's and I can say without a doubt that it has come a LOOOOOOOONG way since then! biggrin.gif

Is Version X perfect?

Of course not. Software development doesn't work that way. Never has, never will. If you doubt what I say just look at Microsoft for example. They've had their share of 'issues' to say the least. rolleyes.gif

Is CNC Software headed in the right direction?

You bet, IMHO of course. The true Windows platform in Version X represents the first step toward the future. Software development is a PROCESS, not just a single project or series of projects. It's not hard to see the vision that CNC Software has with regard to the future, but there are no guarantees it will be a smooth ride getting there! The cycle of software development never really ends because there are always new challenges and obstacles to overcome. Even with its known flaws which are currently being addressed, Mastercam still gives the most bang for the buck IMO so I can put up with a few minor annoyances. biggrin.gif

I know...you're probably thinking I'm just drinking the Kool-Aid and going along with the program, but I really do think based upon experience that Mastercam is THE premeire CADCAM package out there and I will continue to use it as long as my employer keeps my seat active! cool.gif
