okuma peck tap

Is it possible to peck tap on an okuma mill?

E100M control.

I can't seem to find it in the book,so I think Im s.o.l.

as in like tapping by hand...but only making the machine do it?...none of our okuma's are capable of doing that here

Yes,

I know the Fanuc can do it. But i don't think okumas can.

You could always just retap the same hole to different depths., it'll simulate a peck tap

That is also what I do; the U10M does not support peck tapping. I don't have an E or a P control so I don't know about them. Steve, the new Okuma guy, should make himself useful in this thread and give us the lowdown instead of just chirping at Storkman over in the O/T forum all day....

Sorry to disappoint ya boys, but as of a couple weeks

ago I left Gosiger.

The demands for travel was way more than I could put on myself as

well as my family. In the 6-7 weeks I was with them I spent

more time away than in 25 yrs with my wife.

It will happen when the time is right, til then ima off in

meh own world again.

If you have rigid tapping on that control you can call out the rigid tap command again on the next line, add the x,y position again and a new z level. That's how I did it on the older m5020 control.

The U100M control we have supports peck tapping. I have an OSP post dialed to support it.

 

We also have an E100M and it also does.

I peck tap quite a bit, just curious if there is a way to add this to the g84 cycle, so I don't have to insert the q value in the nc code, guess that would have to be a custom cycle or a misc value?
