ESC KEY

I've noticed that my ESC key doesn't work the same in "X" as it doe's in Ver9.

Anybody in MC -- X -- land know if I can configure it to work as a cancel button. I'm used to having one hand on the mouse, one on the spaceball and the other on the ESC key..

Just a suggestion,

 

I have the C button on my space ball programmed as the ESC key.

 

Now you back to only needing 2 hands

I placed in the Spaceball drivers folder my Spaceball config file MastercamX_1.zip

 

I don't know if it will work but your welcome to try it if you'd like.

 

You might have to set some keymapping as several buttons work on keymapped functions, you can clikc on them and see the key strokes.

What have you noticed that's different? Other than some flaws (using it to exit a translate command will still execute the translate), it seems to work the same for me. I think. I haven't used V9 in over a year.

I know what you mean. At least I think you do. What the esc key used to do in 9 was back you up through menus to previous options without kicking you out of the command altogether. I real miss that old side menu, but the customized right click menu is a pretty good compromise.

Me too! Nothing better than paging through 6 menus to get to a command you want. Those one click icons in X really bite.
