When changing views, it does not automatically

fit the drawing on the screen.

 

Fit always has to be done right after, separately.

 

Is there a setting to make the view change and

drawing fit on the screen at the same time?

as far as I know, it uses the last zoom level you used in the view you are changing to.

If you have a spaceball or space pilot you can program the buttons to launch a series of commands. I set mine up for Top Gview + fit, Front + Fit, Right + fit, and Iso + fit. It really helps with the last zoom issue.

You could also write a VB script for each Gview command and include a call to fit screen. Then use script linker to create a new button for each script. I know its a lot of work, but it would get you what you want.

I've done half of the work for you. You'll just have to run them through ScriptLinker.

 

On the FTP in the VB scripts folder is a file called view & fit.zip. In it are 4 scripts (one for top, right, front, and iso) that will change views and fit to screen. As Colin said, run it through ScriptLinker and make your own toolbar for them.

I have no idea what a scriptlinker does or a Vb script for that matter.

 

Is it like an .exe for those add ons or scripts you made.

 

I dloaded the file.

(but i know nothing)

Nice work Colin! I was a bit hesitant to look at them. I thought they might be various pics of Chewbacca. I renamed it just to keep it consistant.

 

I put a file called view & fit icons.zip on the FTP in the VB folder. Use these icons with ScriptLinker or create your own.

Download ScriptLinker from the Chooks folder on the FTP. In it are instructions on how to use it. Use the scripts that I put on the FTP and use the icons that Colin made. ScriptLinker does the rest for you. Then when you go into Settings-Customize, you'll see the options there to make a toolbar.

Will i be able to used the hot keys - alt1, alt2

ect. with the new script?

 

My training was so basic that I have to get

caught up at work with my old software.

 

I wont be able to do the script changes till next week.

of the 4 different view(iso.vbs ect)files?

You'll run it once for each script, which is 4 times total.

 

Select the script, the appropriately named large and small bitmap and you'll get a .dll out the other side.

 

EDIT: You can add a tool tip too.

Forgot to mention 2 things. You can also add them to your right mouse button and you have to restart MC after creating the files with ScriptLinker. When in Settings-Customize, you'll see them in the VB Scripts section.

I replaced the original Gview options in my RMB with the new ones I created. Does anyone know why the icons don't show up in the RMB? The text is there and it works, but there are no icons with them.

Now that you got that all done ( ), you may want to download and use MasterShake's view & fit nethook.zip files. They're in the VB folder. The scripts that you're using will kick you out of backplot or verify if you use them at that time. The ones MasterShake created won't.

Yes. Go into Settings-Customize and delete the toolbar that you created too. If you don't, you'll get errors at startup.

No. MasterShake is good enough that he doesn't need ScriptLinker. That's for us dummies.

 

Take the files in MasterShake's zip file and put them where the old ones were. Now you'll have to create new toolbars and RMB (if you did before).
