Haas Question!

This is a little off topic but wondering for you Haas gurus out thier if you can help me out.

We are currently running a program that we have ran numerous times before but without any alarms the spindle turns off and it keeps feeding. We thought maybe it was the program so while I was checking it we popped in another program and it did the exact same thing the spindle stopped and it kept feeding through the rest of the program.

We put a new guy on our machine last night and we are thinking he might have changed a setting we don't know about.

Does anyone know of a setting or possible fix to this proplem?

Anything is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem where the spindle stopped

then the table would drift till it stopped.

It was a while back the Haas dude changed a few

things back there and cleand it out.

Periodicaly it would happen again. He removed and

tested boards Etc.

He left without a solution.

but

After that 3rd cleaning visit it never happened

again.

(He also cleaned servo connections thoroughly the last

visit.)

Wierd haas thing.

We have several and I mean several Haas's here. We have had that happen but usually with an alarm with the spindle. The machine should alarm out if its in a cutting cycle.

No parameter or diag would cause this if your operater messed with.

Couple things to check if there are no alarms.

Check to see if the spindle turns freely when machine is off.

May have a broken belt if the motor does and spindle does not.

The other problem could be the Spindle orientaioton switch.

This last consist checking wiring connectin

Check the Motif PCB to spindle drive Cable 720.

Call you local Haas guy and they are pretty good for over the phone trouble shooting.
