X2MR1 crash and error

I had a crash with MR1 and now I get this error when trying to get anything for a machine def, I cannot load a machine at all. X2 SP1 is still installed and that seems to work fine.

 

Even if I open a file that has ops in it the OP manager is empty.

 

 

I have rebooted and no change

Sounds like a file corruption. Can you "safely" repair install from install disk?

I wonder if it would help to move your config file to where Mcam can't find it... That would force it to create a new one using the system defaults...

 

I am pretty sure I have seen that error before but can't remember the circumstances surrounding it. In any case, it was an isolated incident and not a consistent problem like you have.

Delete the config and let Mcam make another one or use your backup...

OK, so here's the kicker.

 

I remove the config file, I get the obligatory error message the the file doesn't exist, MCAM continues, opens, I load a file and I get this.

 

 

Now, it shows tool paths yet the OP Manager as you can see has nothing in it and trying to load a machine def still generates the same error.

 

I think I am going to have to reinstall at this point.

I wonder if X+ is messing up the ops manager ?

I have wondered that for awhile.

 

Running the X+ I notice that when things are going to get squirrelly, I get white boxes around the icons in my OP manager, I know it's time to shut down and restart at that point.

 

Remember though I also have X+ running in SP1 as well

I've had the white box around the icons with X+ in both X and X2. It seems to pop up at random intervals usually when copying toolpaths. Other than being somewhat "ugly" I haven't had and adverse problems from it that I'm aware of. YMMV

here is my therory, you had a bad crash and a DLL

file got coruppted. XP's self healing feature restored the DLL for you, but used an obsolete DLL from SP1. I'd try a repair install

Well, a repair install from the web download, I don't have a disc in hand yet, did not change anything.

 

Looks like I am going to have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall.

Did you try uninstalling X+ and then repairing X2 MR1?

Something in the X+ c-hook must have gotten corrupted.

It is a chook that will generate an html or .excel setup sheet. It does several other things as well. screen shot snapshot, change post on the fly, foent and color in OP manager

 

It's a freebie, if you search the forum you'll find a plenty of links to it.
