solids boolean subtract?

During a boolean sutract I want to slice a profile thru a part. I create a round solid and extrude it thru the tool body then do my subract and end up with 2 pieces of my solid round part for my target body. This is good but now how do I delete or break the relation between the 2 target bodies. I am trying to achieve the same thing as solidworks with its up to next. Any ideas?

There is a Chook called "NoHist.dll" which will remove a solid's history and "unassociate" bodies with the op's that made them. Read the help file on the NoHist chook for more information.

FYI, You could also make multiple copies of the solid, then trim each solid to a surface or a plane. If you trim to plane, you get the option of picking the piece you want to keep or you can keep both pieces. Pretty Handy.
