Adjust feedrate for corners and walls?

Hey guys, I have a rather large part that we need to get done asap. Right now my machinist is standing at the control turning the feedrate up on the walls of a pocket and down in the corners so it doesn't bark. Isn't there a way to do this in Mastercam so he doesn't have to stand there? I am using a surface finish contour and I can't find this option anywhere in the parameters.

Thanks guys

Can u cut the pocket from outside in? I have found that this works really well for roughing.

You can use the Highfeed option as well. It well calculate chip load and adjust the feed.

How about the HST's?

OR...you could use the toolpath editor and adjust the feeds.

Lans,

You might try the highfeed button in the toolpath manager right next to the G1 where you go to post. Just select the operation that you want to post then select the highfeed button and fill in some parameters and will attempt to slow down in certain areas.

I haven't yet ran any code posted with this yet so I can't say exactly how good it actually works. I think others on here use it quite a bit.

Good Luck

This is one on Mastercams weak spots IMO

High feed will jack up your code if you try to use cutter comp which makes it useless for

finish passes.

There should be an option inside each contour

and pocket operation to let the user adjust

OD and ID corner feedrates
