X2 MR2 Crashing

I'm having trouble while editing a tool paths, Mastercam crashes.

I finaly had to go back to SP1 to finish a my jobs.

Has any one else had this problem

In 2D contour

I had been programing on and off thursday day, things worked fine.

The file had been created in MR2 a few days ago.

Then I was going back to fine tune tool paths.

I would click on parameters and get a worning and crach. ^*^%*%

I just did some editing on the same file, a dozen time, every thing seems OK.

This happend with the 1st file created in MR2.

Dealer subjested earler in the week, to not have more than 2 version on pc. So I uninstall older version and left MR1 SP1.

Dealer needs some tuning, on fridays 1pm call for support, 96 hours later and no call back with a fix.

I'd be curious to try replicating this on another system. That would tell you if; it's the Mastercam on your system or maybe something corrupted in that specific MCX file.

I tried for over an hour today and couldn't creat a crash.

I talked to the main dealer and he's had no one with the same problem, but want's print screan when it happens again.

I have had the same problem. Click on parameters, and boom, MC crashes. Had it happen about 8 times in an hour one day, a couple of times the next. Haven't seen it for a few days now.

Check the file paths in your config files.

Make sure they are pointing to your new MR2 install, not your old MR1 install

I found out every thing had to go the MR2 location.

I have had constant corrupted config folder, and kept a seperate folder for backup and replacment.Becouse of x2mr2 instability i have gone back to mr1sp1

Check your MR1 and Mr2 config files with a text editor.

I'll bet both MR1 and MR2 are writing config data

to the same folder.

I've had this problem on a couple of computers now. I'm beginning to believe it's not a good idea to do side by side installs.

I have had the same problem crash, crash, when picking the prameter file in op manager, Our mc dist suggested unchecking buffer in config,screen

It helped a great deal. Time to do a lot of saving, after ever operation

I would suggest using back up instead of Autosave.

Regardles, xxxx's poor error handling. The application programmers need to fix this. It should not crash for whatever reason especially for writing to a file in another folder. Many, many apps can do this without crashing.
